4-1-19 - Ziggy - service dogs with dislocated hip

My service dog, Ziggy's hip got dislocated on Thursday, March 28th from jumping down off of my sofa when he was alerting that someone was at the front door. I immediately took him to the emergency room and the vet examined him and found that his leg bone dislocated from his hip joint by viewing his x-rays. The vet also noticed he has a heart murmur and an infected tooth. They don’t perform surgeries there, so I had to take him home in distress with no pain meds from the doctor, just a muscle relaxing shot so the vet could manipulate his leg and hip. I was up all night holding him stable while he was whimpering in pain. I had to call out of work the next day and took him to another vet at 10 am for pain relief for my baby. The second vet popped his leg in the joint, but it kept on popping out, so she popped it in place and I helped hold Ziggy so she can splint the leg in an upward position to heal. I have to take him back on Monday, April 1st for a follow up to see if surgery is needed to keep his leg in place. As if the emergency bill wasn't enough to break me, the bill from the second vet took the rest of my money that I needed to pay my April mortgage, utility bills, and other various bills along with food, gas, etc.  but he is family and I need him as my PTSD dog who is registered with the state. I can understand not everyone has extra money for a stranger's expenses for a dog, but he's not just a dog, he's my buddy, my companion who puts a smile on my face so I can go on with my day. At the least, could you keep Ziggy in your prayers that his hip gets better, and if he does have to get surgery I don't lose him during surgery? Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to read all of this.

4-4-2019  Warren - kitty with terrible injury

I noticed a post yesterday about a kitty that was in a shelter and needed pledges for rescuing to keep him from being PTS. I offered to help with a pledge and he has been saved! THis is the group who saved him:

Sweet Souls Animal Rescue is asking for donations.

Meet Warren (Aka Alvin at PVAS). We got a message yesterday asking us to help this boy.
It’s the same shelter that we rescued Brave from. He has been injured and degloved. He had his leg amputated and neutered at the same time. We have no idea what caused this injury.

We will post more information and pictures as we get them. Welcome to the good life Warren ❤️

4-4-2019  Taming Gracie Corporation

Dilemma, This little fellow was taken in for TNR on Saturday. He's about 5 1/2 months old. I was told he is very shy and runs for his life when he sees people. Here's the dilemma. We're having a food and litter crisis and I'm not taking in any more (except those already scheduled) for rescue until this crisis ends. BUT...this little one, in just a few days recovering in a trap, has decided he kinda likes me. He's running to the front of the trap when I open their door, doesn't cower when I change out their pads and in fact he helps me do it lol. He went from most fearful cat at that location to this. I would like to keep him in to socialize and find a home.

But I can't...unless we at least fill THIS list! This 2 weeks worth of food and litter list that isn't doing so well again. I have to make a decision by about 5 PM. :(   Taming Gracie is  501c3

4-4-2019 Millie - rescue cat with a blockage

I’m in a very dire situation with Millie, she is one of several cats I rescued before moving to Nevada and didn’t want to take them to a shelter (TX us insane) so I brought them with me She is very sick and needs to be seen and I strongly suspect blockage. She has always been a strange eater but she seems to have eaten pieces of a foam mat. I can pay for the office visit and I can afford the x-rays w barium but I have a feeling she’s going to have to have emergency surgery due to blockage. I cannot afford that. My financial situation is hundred percent commission and I don’t have any commission right now so I’m literally surviving on when I made from the sale of my home which is not a lot, I am begging anybody that can help to please help me. The green pieces are what she threw up Saturday. I thought she got them all out but it is clear today she did not - she can’t keep anything down and I has been ill. I got her to the vet, but the bill has gone up another $200 because they are giving Iv fluids now, blood work and laxatives. They are suspecting surgery which I’m very concerned about. I have no way to pay for it and they just tacked on another $350 to the already current bill. I have no credit cards, denied for care credit, No family who has anything of funds to loan I just moved here from Dallas TX so i know no one. We are at almost $700 that I do not have.

4-9-19  Fish hook cats

OMG this is just horrific!  A person was evicted from their apartment and they moved and left 15 cats behind.  The landlord threw them all outside.  A neighbor started putting cat food on the hook of a fishing pole with rope attached and started ...as he put it....fishing for cats!  This group was called to help and so far they have trapped 9 cats.  One of those cats had 3 hooks in it's mouth, stomach and out his rectum!  He has multiple abscesses and gangrene set in.  He was rushed to the vet and they were able to save him.  There are at least 2 more cats they see with hooks out of their mouth that they are desperately trying to get but can't so far.  You can follow all of this on their page:  Happy Hearts & Tails Safe Haven Animal Rescue  (They are a 501c3).  The police are looking for the neighbor who did this who has since moved out as his house was condemned.

4-12-19  Young Female GS hit by car

Shepherds Beyond Borders is asking for donations. This young girl will need surgery on her shoulder due to being hit by a car we believe. The vet also says this injury is about 7 days old and she’s lucky to be alive and didn’t bleed out somewhere with no one ever knowing. This young female is in need of help. She's far to thin for a girl of her size as we can see, and many know a picture hides the reality, but what's more worrisome is the paw she refuses to walk on. We don't know if she was hit by a car or what caused the injury, but what we do know is this girl needs help. Please help us help her. (Shepherds Beyond Borders is a 501c3)

4-15-19 Princess is in desperate need of dental help

Black Cat Holistic Rescue's fundraiser for Princess Dental Work:  Princess is in desperate need of dental work. She has had some pain while eating and her mouth and gums are inflamed. We need to take her to a specialist who is experienced with feline dental issues. We have previously been quoted $715 for the work that needs to be done, but it could be more based upon what is found to be the cause of her issues. Any amount is appreciated no matter how small. Thank you very much!  We are a 501c3 non profit, no kill animal rescue organization that specializes in saving black cats and kittens from euthanasia by pulling them out of the shelters in the Los Angeles area, fostering them and finding adoptive families to give them a forever home. We also provide holistic services as a supplement to traditional veterinary care to the cats that we rescue and to cats in the care of other rescue organizations in our area. Some of the holistic services that we provide include: reiki, bach flower remedies, hypoallergenic, grain free meals, all natural litter and chemical free, natural remedies.

4-22-19  Stray cat needing rescue

My niece asked me if I could help this kitty.  Her young friend found this cat outside all alone and was following her and meowing non stop.  She opened her car door and kitty jumped in. They called all the shelters, lost pet groups and scanned for chip hoping to find an owner.  Nobody came forward.  She was wiling to keep him if she could get help vetting him since she has other cats. I agreed to help with the vet.  We went saturday and got his shots, dewormed, de flead and he tested negative. They estimate home to be 8 month old. So he now has a new home and is very very happy! His name is now Anthony and he is such a lover boy!

4-24-10 Little Bear - dog hit by car

Meet little Bear, a local dog who needs our help (Brindle Buddies has put $1,000 on his account)

He was found in the Utah desert, about 9 months old, 29 pounds, ribs showing, limping, and missing an eye. He was welcomed to the family with open arms. He returned to Pennsylvania, and he is now 18 months received veterinary care, a warm bed every night, a good diet plus tons of TLC. He immediately stole the hearts of everyone he met.  On Thursday April 18 while hiking with his “Daddy” he was hit by a four wheeler that never stopped. He was unconscious at the scene never even attempting to rise. Rushed to Rush Veterinary Center and we were told his condition was extremely grave and not to get our hopes up. He surprised everyone by making it through the night. He now gets excited if he hears our voices and try’s to kiss us. His improvement is miraculous. He is suffering from a broken humerus on his left front leg and a broken femur on his right rear leg. We were told today our options are surgery at an approximate cost of 7,000 or have him euthanized. It’s an unbearable decision to make since Little Bear has become a huge part of the family. His daddy lost his home due to fire and was able to escape with the clothes on his back and Little Bear and now is currently living in a camper with this precious pup that means the world to him. He does not have the means to come up with this large amount of money to save him, this is why we need everyone's help.

Please call your donation directly to the vets office Rush Veterinary 1-570-668-1222 ( Please specify that you want your money to be put on Little Bears account)

Or donate though the link through Facebook and we will give a check directly to the vet. (Will post picture of the check once given to the vet)  https://www.facebook.com/BrindleBuddiesFriends/

4-24-19 Small rescue needs help for 3 kitties with stomatitis

Another Chance Animal Rescue Toothache Tuesday! One of the hardest things to do when you are a small nonprofit is to ask for money. Honestly. Would rather have a root canal done without novacaine. Well, we have 3 cats that need massive dental work. Stomatitis is a painful condition in cats that sometimes requires the removal of all the teeth. Until the vet can anesthetize them and get into their mouth we have no idea what we are dealing with. At the least this will cost us $3,000 ($1,000 for each cat), with a generous vet discount. Our beautiful Fife, who has been on this page before, is one of the three. If you are able, please use the PayPal link at the bottom of this post and give something. If you prefer sending by check, mail to Another Chance, P.O. Box 552, North Berwick ME 03906. Please put “dental” in the memo. Heartfelt thanks. (Another Chance is a 501c3)

4-24-19 Gisele - mama cat with broken jaw

A gentleman by the name of Donald called me today pleading for help for a cat he recently started feeding. He said she had babies about 4-5 weeks ago and was fine a few days ago but had not seen her until today and his heart broke when he saw her in this condition Donald has a heart of Gold and has helped and continues to helps sooo many cats and dogs in need in the Miami area. How could I say No to a kitty in need from a man who has helped so many and is asking for help.My wonderful friend, Melissa took her to Laguna Isle Animal Hospital for me this afternoon and named her Gisele ❤️Dr Buster called me late and said it’s bad, the jaw is broken in two places. She can not do this surgery and said she will send me the X-rays in the morning so I can work on getting an orthopedic vet to assist.Dr Buster said she tested negative on FELV / FIV which is great news. She gave her fluids, pain medication and a bunch of other stuff I can’t remember to make her comfortable. I asked Donald to please go look for those kittens. PLEASE SHARE Gisele’s story to get her the surgery she desperately needs. She is unable to eat on her own and I can’t even imagine the pain she must be feeling. Dr Buster feels this is a result of being attacked by another animal. She saw bite wounds on the top of her head. She most likely was protecting her babies from roaming dogs Thank you, Susan

HOME Rescue is asking for donations.🆘🆘URGENT🆘🆘

Finder did not respond in time to get her to a regular vet. She will be heading to the ER an hour away. If you can donate please use PayPal. We need the funds available asap. We need at least $600 for them to start treatment.  Emergency Donations needed for very critical cat found in South Texas. We are told she has been laying in this condition for a while...broken protruding bones...in pain..infection raging in her body..fire ants crawling all over her. We know it's been a rough week for medical cases but we can't leave this baby to suffer. This area has very little rescue presence and there is very little chance someone else is coming to help her. We don't know if she was attacked or hit by a car but is in route to the vet. We are almost positive her leg will have to be amputated at the very least. Please help us give this sweet girl at least a fighting chance at life. Home Rescue is a 501c3

Trap Neuter Return - TNR - North Platte, Nebraska - Not my most favorite type of post to make! I hate sounding desperate or begging. But I am down to my last 12 pack of wet cat food ☹️. Feeding so many cats every single day, I am very frugile when I feed. I never waste or feed them more than I think they can eat right away or within the hour. I personally feed 5 different locations of cats, 7 days a week. I am not picky when it comes to the food for the cats… Anything is appreciated! Here is a link with ways to donate food.
