8-4-20 Swiss - kitty attacked and injured
This Snowshoe baby has been attacked by something and has 2 very large holes in both legs with maggots. Heading to Sunset ER with her now. **UPDATE** The Siamese baby stayed the night at Sunset for observation and to have her wounds clipped, cleaned and flushed. She has a hopeful prognosis, however her wounds were not fresh so she has been this way for some time. This is going to take a lot of care and recovery time. She can not be closed up for risk of closing infection. Her legs are weak and very painful so she can not support her body very long. Hoping that is the only reason and that there is not any actual damage to any nerves or muscles. Time will tell. We still need help for her medical care.

8-6-20 Anchovy - kitten attacked by dog
I am trying to raise money for my kitten Anchovy (5 months old). She snuck out of the house and got grabbed by a stray dog. After freeing her from its grip she had her jaw bone almost poking out her her skin, facial swelling and blood coming from her nose and mouth. I took her to a eagles Landing vet to immediately be seen. After assessment and 350.00 they said she needed to go to a specialist to have a cat scan and her jaw is requiring surgery which could cost 4000 or more depending on the extent of the damage. The vet sent her home as they couldnt help her further. I called the Blue pearl specialist they referred us too and they do not take payment arrangements. They suggested I try care credit but was denied. With being laid off due to Covid etc I dont know what to do but I know I have to try and save my baby. The next step will cost between 200 and 500 dollars for the cat scan, sedation and initial fee of 150.00. I know everyone is struggling. I just dont know what to do, They said if I couldnt get her for the cat scan as soon as possible then they suggested putting her down...but i just have to try with all my pride aside.

8-7-20 Inferno - very sick kitten find by the road
Inferno came in at close yesterday after being found on the side of the road and is in very bad shape. We have a vet appointment at Rowan Animal Clinic at 11:30 for him. Please share and donate if possible. A124241 at Rowan Animal Shelter, in NC. **UPDATE** He "crashed" last night and was rushed to Cabarrus ER where he spent the night. They did not really expect him to last the night but he rallied about 6 AM! He is currently hospitalized at Rowan Animal Clinic but has again had a downturn with his blood sugar and temperature. He seems to have the will to live but and we want to make that happen but we have already spent $1000 in one night/day. Please donate for him so we can enhance his treatment and give him another night at the ER. Donations can be called in Rowan Animal Clinic. Today we have been able to keep his blood sugar and temperature pretty stabilized and everyone is impressed with his progress.

08-11-20 Kitten found in road unresponsive
A woman in my community found a kitten lying on the side of the road about 30 minutes ago. He is breathing with no obvious wounds, but is unresponsive. We do not have the funds to take him to a veterinarian at this time, and a veterinarian will not see him at all without payment. He is hanging in there and his condition has not deteriorated at all since she found him, so there is a chance he can be saved, or at least euthanized to end his suffering. If we can raise money to take him in, we will be taking him to Lakeside Veterinary Hospital (our local emergency vet) in Carbondale, IL. Thank you so much if you are able to he help! **UPDATE** so far: They said he had bad tapeworms, possible anemia or possible brain damage. they want to monitor him today. they gave him a steroid (i'm not clear why), antibiotics, and pain meds. they couldn't do the xray or blood work yet, but he has a little pink in his gums, so hopefully he doesn't need a transfusion yet for anemia or anything and hopefully his internal injuries aren't too bad if he has any. I'm still trying to raise more money also. i'm really glad this woman was able to care for him like she did. it's so nice to meet other people this committed to caring for stray animals. 8-12-20 Brownie & another abandoned Puppy need emergency help
First is Brownie: EMERGENCY, Brownies bladder has ruptured. He is going to be stabilized tonight, fluid will be drained from abdomen & urinary catheter will be placed to drain the bladder. If he absorbs urine his heart will stop. We will transport as soon as he is stable to have surgery, the critical care vet said that we could transport with his Cather in. Please please keep the positive thoughts coming, he’s got a whole life ahead of him 💔 the estimate for tonight, for not even 12 hours is $1,700-$2,000. We are still $420 short.

8-12-20 Mighty - stray cat with terrible tail injury
Picked up this poor boy in Montrose this morning. True Friends refused to help. They are literally 5 minutes away and refused help. His name is Mighty and he is at Town and Country Vet. Big thank you to them for taking him in immediately. He's getting cleaned up now. His tail will be amputated and at the same time neutered. Mighty's bill will be upwards of $300.
Update: He's resting comfortably. Cleaned up, maggots removed, Enjoying a meal.

8-13-20 Bodhi - kitten with a liver shunt
We just found out that our 5 month old rescue kitty, Bodhi has been diagnosed with a portosystemic shunt. This is a congenital liver defect which directs blood from the intestine away from the liver instead of through it. His blood is unable to be cleansed, causing toxins to build up and circulate systemically. Back in June, we noticed Bodhi acting lethargic. At first, he stopped playing, and began drooling excessively. Over the course of the day, he deteriorated. He became disoriented, could not walk, and had tremors. We brought him to the emergency vet, assuming he had gotten into something and this was the result of some kind of toxicity. He stayed the night in their ICU and was treated as though this were the case. The following morning he had improved and we were able to take him home.Yesterday, Bodhi began acting strange and then deteriorated in the same way. We brought him to our vet and they performed bloodwork, which indicated that he had extremely high levels of ammonia. Our vet determined that this was the cause of his neurological symptoms and confirmed his diagnosis with an ultrasound today. The shunt is accessible and operable which is great news. Unfortunately, this is an expensive procedure with quite a bit of preparatory testing and post-operative recovery support. It is estimated that the total costs will fall somewhere between $5,000-$7,000. If he does not have the surgery, he would require daily medication and even with this, his condition would progressively worsen until we would need to make a decision regarding his quality of life. Our vet could not give us a timeline, but knowing that his liver will not grow along with him, this would likely be a short time. Our family is head over heels in love with our Bodhi and want him to live a long, healthy life with us. Thank you for reading and for anything you are willing to contribute! 8-15-20 Bella Bonita - a puppy with parvo
Hello Everyone, I am fundraising for our 8 week old Puppy we named Bella Bonita...she is wonderful and even though we only had her as a new addition to mine and my Fiance's home for less than 48 hours, we were already in love with her. 24 hours after some of our so-called "friends" dropped her off on our doorstep with no warning but frantically explaining they could not keep her in their single room dwelling, asked if we could take care of her. FYI this puppy had been on the streets with the homeless crowd so therefore had not been to any vet for its Well Puppy Exam and first vaccines/innoculations. I was planning on bringing Bella Bonita to the SPCA today anyway for her 1st round of vaccines and a check up i thought she would pass with flying colors!!! But instead, by 10am my Fiance and I literally had to run to the nearest SPCA Veterinary Hospital/Urgent Care facility. As I had feared since she was literally non-responsive, eyes glazing over, whimpering and whining super high pitched nonstop and literally spewing diarrhea all over and was completely non-responsive and hot to the touch especially around her abdomen which had stayed taunt and seemingly bloated nonstop since we had obtained her....we knew she had to get to the SPCA stat (quickly!) I am asking for some caring people of animals to please help us with the fees for the IV fluids, kennel and hospital intensive care, x-rays and tests being run. We got together the $125 for the exam fee which they claimed they would then begin treatment for her once a down payment at least was given, yet as soon as they got that they called me on my phone immediately stating the estimate of procedures needing to be run will amount to 2000.00. They demanded it immediately or they will not follow through with continual treatment and I guess expect us to come pick up a deathly ill puppy to bring back to our SRO to pass away at home as we can not come up with the entire 2000.00 up front. I am even willing to give Bella Bonita a home to whomever can take over the financial duties, though I adore her and would love to get her back i would rather know that she got the needed medical care and rehabilitation and subsequent new home and new owners rather than have her lose her life due to lack of funds.

8-18-20 Queenie - dog with broken shoulder for over a year!
HOW DO YOU LOOK INTO THOSE EYES AND NOT HELP‼️‼️‼️ I am BEGGING for DONATIONS help once again!! I can not sleep at night knowing that I have the best group of friends on Facebook to network for help for this dog! This is QUEENIE and she is estimated to be around 10 years old! She was hit by car A YEAR AGO and her shoulder was badly injured! Her owner is unable to to get her shoulder fixed on his own! I'm not a vet but her shoulder no longer looks to be attached to her body and is only being held there by muscle and skin ! She is unable to move or use her arm at all and this has to be very painful! I was finally able to talk to her owner this morning and he has agreed to let me help and understands her arm will most likely have to be amputated! 8-19-20 Jazzy - kidney stones
⚠️⚠️ATTENTION PLEASE⚠️⚠️ So today I posted that we would not be taking in anymore animals to help til we got caught up but who could turn down this face. Backstory of this precious girl. Her owner is a cancer patient and his wife is in the hospital. Jazzy was told by another vet that she has kidney stones and the surgery is very expensive. Jazzy is in pain. Her owner took her to the shelter to surrender her and was crying because he loves her so much but he couldn't let her suffer. I was contacted by someone and asked if we could help so he could keep his baby. Of course we can. This man called me and he is going through a lot. His family is sick. I told him we would help Jazzy and cried on the phone thanking me. This is one family that truly needs our help. I said OUR HELP because I don't do this alone. I do not know the cost of the surgery yet but Jazzy is seeing Dr. Garrett tomorrow at 145 pm after her owner has a small procedure done in the morning. I know we need a lot of funds. Once I get the price I will post it but this is an expensive surgery.

8-24-20 Mama - stray cat attacked by a dog
Humbly asking for help—Mama cat with the neck wound is much worse off than I anticipated. We finally got her trapped today; she’s in emergency care now. **UPDATE** Morning everyone, calling the vet soon for an update. Here’s what I know as of last night:
She’s severely anemic and dehydrated. Her red count is about 15% (should be around 44%). Once they rehydrate her that will probably drop. If it continues she will need a blood transfusion. Her white count is about 55,000 which is to be expected with the level of infection she’s got going. She’s going to need sedation for her wound care. She will very likely survive this if we can get her stable. She’s just SO far gone that it’s gonna take a bit to get her back there.

8-24-20 Chewy - VERY ill rescue kitty
On August 10th, sweet Chewy was rescued from a hole by the FDNY after reportedly being stuck for at least a week. Upon arriving at the NYC shelter, she was dull, dehydrated, emaciated, had ear mites, dental disease, a lame front paw, anemic, and overall weakness. She could barely hold herself up and her prognosis was fair to guarded. It was shocking that she was still alive, considering she was in a hole without food or water for so long. And yet, she was as affectionate and attention seeking as ever, leaning into pets and cheek rubs, and gobbling as much food as she was allowed. Needless to say, this little tabby was a favorite at the shelter among shelter staff and volunteers. A medical priority, NY ACC asked Ready For Rescue to help this sweet girl ASAP. Despite currently caring for several severe medical cases, we couldn’t say no. Chewy was sent to a loving and caring foster home in NJ. Despite that Chewy has been eating well and improving daily (she was staring to walk), repeated blood work showed she needed a blood transfusion and ultrasound. Chewy was admitted to ER yesterday morning and will be hospitalized for the next 1-2 days. She received the transfusion, plasma, IV fluids, antibiotics, an ultrasound, and a PCR to rule out mycoplasma and bartonella. The estimate for Chewy's ER stay is $3500. In addition her previous vet visits, her care is estimated to run close to $5,000.

8-28-20 Starving cat colony
Terrible starving cat colony found in Bethany Beach Delaware. Apparently an elderly lady has been trying to care for these kitties for quite a while but could no longer help them because she has been battling cancer 😞. She is now in a local hospital and has given me permission to trap. I was driving down the road and saw this extremely thin cat and that is why I pulled over. These poor babies, this is breaking my heart💔. Trust me you do not want to know what they were eating besides the hamburger and hotdog rolls laying there. 😪😪😪😪😪. I am planning to do a big trapping job here before this gets any worse than it already is. There are dead kittens laying around 💔💔💔💔💔. every little bit helps to end their suffering. 8-29-20 Fred - very ill cat
I have a cat and he recently started to act strange. He doesn’t like the be held anymore, he bites at lot, is walking strangely, hides all day. Just a few days ago he started to refuse to eat. I have to keep insisting so he eats something. His poop is almost liquid and bright yellow. I see he struggles to pee and doesnt pee a lot. He’s only one year old and wasn’t supposed to be like this. I called Linden Animal Hospital desperate and they arranged to see him tomorrow.
I’m going through a really bad financial moment. I’ve been through a foreclosure recently and a couple weeks after I got the Covid-19. I had a really bad recovery (but fully Covid free for weeks now), had to go to the emergency 3 times and now have an enormous debt with hospitals as well. My bills pilled up, including my rent. I need help to be able to afford my cat’s vet bill tomorrow. They said he will probably need a X-Ray and poop exam right way and they’ll figure out what else later. I do have money for the vet consultation ($55) but not for the exams. Again, I hate coming here to ask anything, but I can’t be selfish with my cat and I have to try. Because of the foreclosure, I’m can’t get care credit or anything like that. I can’t start a go fund me, because the appointment is tomorrow already.
