12-01-20  Monkey - kitten with severe diarhea

Hey guys I found a kitten I named monkey with a colony. He was loving and playful the second I met him. I got him fixed took him home. Got toys, a bed, hard meow mix and wet fancy feast food with water every day. He's friendly always playful. The second day he started liquid diarrhea and has been doing it since. No sign of worms. Personality hasn't changed. Still his playful normal self. Just keeps liquid diarrhea all going down the side of the litterbox. I dont have money for a vet. But I dont know whats going on ? 🙁 I dewormed him to be sure even though I didn't see any I wanted to be sure. But he was already having the liquid diarrhea before that. Any suggestions? I so wish I could go to a vet. I just can't afford it. **UPDATE** I just found out she also tries to feed over 30 outdoor cats so I am also going to send some food to her.

12-2-20  Killer - very ill cat

This is Killer (pronounced kyler). He is a semi-feral part of a colony I care for. He went missing about a month ago and showed up last night staggering. After a long while trying to catch/trap I got him inside and he is extremely dehydrated, covered in fleas and has extreme ataxia. We are at the vet now and the bill is 300$ so far and will continue to raise as proper treatment is found. If anyone can help towards getting him the care he needs it would truly be life saving. Blood test have been done and is still hospitalized on IV fluids. The vets prognosis was wanting to start making quality of life decisions by tomorrow as I already don't have the funds to pay for what is accumulating and he will do no further testing without paying off what was done today. In other words, he wants me to put him to sleep because I can afford anymore help.

12-7-20  Cat colony in need of food

I'm sorry to Vent if not allowed delete me! I dont understand some people. 2 years ago this lady hit me up and asked me if I could fed her colony of cats. Because she is busy with school and work. She said, she would give me the food for them. But she dont. I've asked her about 2 times for food over this 2 year period and each times she gets so mad at me. So I stopped asking her. But stupid me I asked her today for food. To feed her colony. And she got so angry with me. She said, stop feeding them, she well feed the cats She never thanked me for anything. I feel so bad for the cats. I dont think she well feed them. I will keep doing it though Thank you for listening.

12-8-20  Leo - rescue kitty with bladder blockage

Last year, Leo the tuxie lost his human after she passed away. Along with several of his siblings, he ended up at the NYC-ACC shelter where he was very afraid and shut down. Due to his behavior, he was placed up on the At-Risk List for euthanasia. Thankfully, Leo was rescued by a New Hope partner and fostered by Katchen Hen. Despite Leo's initial feral behavior, within a few months of trusting Kat and her cat whisperer techniques, he turned into a lap cat! He also became buddies with Kat's cat clan. Kat could not bear to move Leo to another home, risking that he'd regress, and so he became a foster fail. For the past few months, Leo has been having urinary issues and has been rushed to ER now three times for blockages. He is currently on a prescription diet, however he is still continuing to block and may need PU surgery. As of last night, he blocked again and was rushed to the vet for an emergency unblocking. He will remain there for three days for monitoring. His estimate for these three days is upwards of $1200. Kat is a long time foster for rescues such as Ready For Rescue and Feline Rescue of Staten Island. She pours her heart into the cats that she fosters (cats that are oftentimes difficult to handle) and could greatly use financial help with Leo's care. In the past few months, she has spent more than $1000 on his care, not including this current visit. Kat is always the first to donate for a cat or dog's care, to hep FB friends that she doesn't even know. Please help her with a small donation so that she can reach her goal to cover Leo's bill. Every cent raised will go directly to covering Leo's medical expenses. Thank you. Meow.

12-09-20  Gabby - kitten with several broken bones

Gabby came from the FW shelter with “a possible broken leg”... what she has is a right fractured tibia, a left fractured completely broken femur and a broken pelvis with bone fragments.. and she’s only 10 weeks old.....We did not expect this... but we never do. Gabby goes into surgery Wednesday 12/9 and is a major “3 surgeries in 1”. Each leg will require pins and they will remove the bone fragments in her hip / pelvis. We can only assume she was hit by a car .. and she needs help.  To make this little girls life even harder, her first viral test came back FeLv+. She will be separated through her long recovery and retested as there’s a hopeful possibility she may test negative in another month or so and the positive could be false due to moms Antibodies still.

12-9-20 More cats are hungry and need food

Does anyone know of any Pet Food Banks that are still open? My local one is only open every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. I’m running low on wet food, I have about 6 cans left. I’m limiting them to the 6 kittens and my 5 year old cat who’s on a strict wet food diet. In total there’s 20 cats that eat twice a day wet food besides dry food.

12-12-20  Cat colony in need of food

Remember the Monmouth junction colony with 25-30 cats? Tara Jersey and I raised money (1800) toward the cost for vetting and since have trapped, vetted and re-homed 20 cats. the house was being foreclosed in the people were slated to move. After we rehomed that group of cats, the primary caregiver refused to let us on the property and stop cooperating with us. To my knowledge they were seven or eight cats left and one nursing mom inside I contacted local animal control and spoke to other local resources but there was nothing that I could do if they would not continue to work with me. Obviously this left me heartbroken, I tried for over a month to convince them to let me come back and at the very least finish TNR for the remaining cats but my arguments fell on deaf ears. Due to covid restrictions they have not been forced out of their home and cats have started to procreate. The women's granddaughter lives in Pennsylvania and reached out to me today to ask if I could help find a home for one of the kittens that was taken from the property a few months ago by her aunt who lives in the area ( her aunt decided she no longer wanted the kitten and was going to return her out into the cold at the grandmother's home in Monmouth Junction) As I scrambled to make a plan, furiously texting a few of my contacts to see if anyone would go and pick up the kitten I got a reply text saying that her aunt just told her she took the kitten already, so a little baby who lost its winter coat is now outside in the freezing cold along with two or three other pregnant cats and the remaining cats in The colony 💔 I think I mentioned before that the primary caregiver who was responsible for these cats at one time is a drug addict..... Very hard to deal with, no sense of rational thought period her mother and her daughter both want help for the cats so we're trying to regroup and revisit the situation so that we can clean things up once and for all.  Also looking to see if anyone would provide food donations in the interim while we try to organize and get the rest of the cats help.💓

EMERGENCY!!!! We received a message asking us for help with this cat since the shelter was not able to take him. When we got him we discovered that his PAW PADS ARE FALLING OFF!! I THINK HE IS IN A LOT OF PAIN!! We want to take him to Cabarrus ER but our funds are nearly gone and we really need help to pay the bill! Please help us by donating and sharing. This is the picture the finder sent to me. We have not yet been able to get picture of his paws because he is hiding them.  UPDATE; He does have "Pillow Foot" and is FIV+. He also has calici virus. We are going to give him a chance and bring him to our foster. He will be on Doxycycline for about 2 months. We will likely be taking to our vet for additional bloodwork. They are going to clean him up, give him fluids and antibiotics. I have also asked for pain meds.

Oh - I forgot he also had a raw spot on his chest. And some ingrown eyelashes which might get better as he does.

EMERGENCY!! THIS CAT HAD HIS TAIL CUT OFF! 😩🤢HE’S BEING RUSHED TO THE VET!
🤬POSSIBLE ANIMAL CRUELTY 🤬💛PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN AND SHARE💛
I don’t know why or how. I can’t imagine the pain he is going through!! This poor baby had his tail sliced off somehow and has apparently been like that for days! 😖💔Infections set in so quickly and this wound is terrible. I couldn’t think of him being out there dying slowly from the infection, when the feeder reached out I had to get him. Considering how clean the cut is, this could have been done by someone deliberately. My skin is crawling thinking of what this could mean for the others in his area😩 I’ll be reporting this for sure. He’s on his way right now to Plantation Midtown Animal Hospital. Please if you can help, every bit counts. The little guy deserves better than this. This is happening real time so I’ll be updating as we know more. 🤞🏽💔🥺

12-21-20  Food stolen from rescue group

Luzerne County Animal Response Team: STOLEN ITEMS!! Someone broke into our building that we use to store food and stole THOUSANDS of dollars of cat food, dog food, treats and cat litter!!
We aren't sure if they made several trips or stole everything at once. The theft occurred between December 4th and December 15th, but we are fairly certain it was sometime last week. We have filed a Police report for breaking and entering and theft. We are asking all local businesses and homes to review their video footage in the area. The theft occurred in Kingston, we are convinced it's someone that lives or works in the area locally. We need everyone to share this post far and wide, so we can find the person/s responsible for this despicable crime. We are mad, upset and saddened that someone would steal food that we worked so hard to obtain to help our local community members that are struggling to feed their pets. Please EVERYONE look at the sale pages, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist etc. and screenshot any posts of people selling food and send it to us ASAP. We need to find these criminals and they need to be held responsible. We give so much back to the community and we are very disheartened that someone would do this. Please help us find the person/s that did this. This is a significant blow to our ability to help people in need. 🙁Below is our Amazon Wish List and donation link for those asking how they can help. We have added pet food and litter to our normal list. Thank you in advance. ❤  We need cat food, dog food and litter most of all.

Hi! I was sent to your page in hopes of getting some help with one of the cats I have recently trapped. His name is Hamton, he has a severely injured leg, he is being seen tomorrow at Winslow Animal Hospital at 9am, I actually trapped another cat at the same colony that also has a broken leg he will also be seen, Hamton is just is worse shape and I am sure this is going to cost a lot. 3 others were fixed and vaccinated today. Hoping for the best for Hamton he really seems like a kind soul. The first photo he is in the middle you can see how his foot just drags, the second photo shows all of the wounds which clearly shows he must of been this way for a long time sadly.
