06/03/19 Iris - puppy attacked by other dogs

WNVCritterpics. She was mauled today by other dogs. Her leg is clearly broken, she's got very deep lacerations all over her so when our vet took X-rays it was just to see the extent of the damage...The x-rays revealed an even more concerning problem, if you can believe it! She has an obstruction! This poor girl has been through it and she wouldn't survive much longer but some really good folks stepped up and got her safe. Now we need to find 3600.00 to save her life and this does NOT include the care her broken leg needs. 😭  She will die without surgery. She needs a miracle. Please help us find the money needed to save her life!!! There is already 500.00 there for her so now we need to find about 3100.00 more. 😨

Donations direct to vet up to 100.00 can be called in to 661-272-1600 under Wendy Nelson's account.

6-5-19  Story - dog found shot

We work so blessed hard to help the neediest as we did again with our boy Story that came to us last month. It was a miracle that he could keep his leg, but that miracle went awry tonight :(
His leg started swelling and he has been in a lot of pain so we got him to the vet tonight where they took new Xrays, sedated him for that, has very infected ears so meds for that and other pain meds other then what foster mom had, and yes, he has to have that leg amputated after all :( They also found bullet fragments still in there. Our boy Story already has a horrible story of his past if only he could talk. His vet bill tonight was $560 that we absolutely do not have, but I had to pay it which means it just took away from another of our seniors needing masses removed from her body to determine what they are this week.

What I am searching for is perhaps a few solid sponsors to help us pay this bill from tonight and his upcoming surgery.
I am so tired of asking but it is not like we don't try and help ourselves to pay our own bills each and every day. It is never enough.  Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a 501c3

6-5-19  Ted - cat found very injured

MCCA's AdvoCats:  The Farmington ACO picked up this poor, young soul and notified us immediately. He is currently at the vet being examined, but we do not yet know what his injuries are and what treatment he will need. Please donate to his vet bill. We will update when we know more. Thank you!

**URGENT - FOSTER, RESCUE, and DONATIONS NEEDED**

Update: This cat's pound ID is FP 19-241, but I'm calling him Ted. He went on a not-so-excellent adventure and is currently at out vet. His face is very swollen, has a broken lower jaw (now wired) and a fractured upper jaw. We are not sure how his eye is going to do. He is spending the night there so the vet can assess how well he can eat, give him a chance to calm down, etc. Unfortunately, we don't have any foster space open at all so he will have to go to animal control when he leaves the vet clinic, unless we find a qualified medical foster or another rescue with space.  Please share to help him find another rescue for us to transfer him to, or a foster able to take on a significant medical case. Thank you to those that have donated so far - right now I don't know what his vet bill will be but I will keep you posted. We could not sit back to wait to get him care, and we appreciate your support so that we can help first and then raise the funds for the bill. Any donations received in excess of his bill will be forwarded to another licensed rescue group if they take him in or to assist other cats like him if he does not recover. 6-5-19  VERY injured kitty - Pumpkin Pie

This is Pumpkin Pie, he lives on the streets but has a dedicated feeder now. He recently showed up to a colony, most likely dumped. He must of gotten into a fight and the abuses ruptured. The infection can cause A lot of damage so we are trying to raise funds to get him medical attention and get him operated on. I rescue animals in need but do not have a rescue so the funds would have to go directly to the vet. I will message you the vets info.

My bank account is overdrawn , my fridge is empty and today is the last day of cat food...I have the time and the space for my fosters but I don’t have the money to support them or myself apparently. I’ve been begging for food for over a month and I’ve not received anything. The last money I had I used to go to the airport to drop off my kitties for transport and to pay for 8 combo tests buy amoxicillin...today don’t know what to do.

She is a curious little girl and loves to test anything she finds on the floor. We love Baby Girl so much so this is heartbreaking 💔This baby is in dire need of vet tomorrow - please help us save her! 6-15-19 Several kittens with terrible eye problems

Fox Foster Kittens is asking for donations. It is raining medical cases and we are drowning in them🌧We saved these girls from the high kill shelter where they were set to be euthanized immediately if we didn’t take them. We’ve had them for a week now.  As we’ve been treating their eyes we’ve seen some improvement and have come to the conclusion that Gretchen will sadly lose both eyes. Cady will lose one eye. Karen will likely lose one eye. Regina has one eye that is a 50/50 shot right now, we are trying very hard to save it but it’s in bad shape and very close to rupturing. All girls are on pain meds and antibiotics. We are battling the clock here. They’re all very small at a pound. Do we risk losing them under anesthesia due to size and instability? Or do we risk losing them to infection? We are taking things day by day with our vet. We have to wait for the right time, or whenever we decide is the right time, to go ahead and take the infected ruptured eyes out. Please pray for these little ladies!I did some counting. Pending I’m not able to save any of these terrible eyes We have what appears to be 10 enucleations coming up and 3 sets of eyelids that need to be built...this is going to cost us anywhere from $8,000-$10,000 and that’s with a discount at a low cost clinic. Yikes! We are absolutely drowning in medical cases and desperately need your help to continue to give them the best care possible! If anyone is able to donate even $1 towards these sweeties it would be greatly appreciated. We couldn’t do it without you! Please consider helping!

6-21-19 Arya - dog attacked

MAULED - MEDICAL URGENTLY NEEDED! ARYA was picked up stray yesterday. Shelter staff alerted us today that she was there and in distress. Wendy just left the shelter with her, and is heading to Pets R Us as I type. Arya has been mauled, she has bite marks on her head and back legs, both back legs are swollen and she is having trouble standing and walking. She is just a baby, maybe 6 months old. We will be needing help with her care! Something savagely mauled her which is made more sad by her sweet disposition and friendliness toward the dog she rode with to the vet. 😔 Arya is a tough cookie because she has 3 painful legs, a painful ear and shoulder and neck bites as well. She's got a tail wag and affection for everyone she meets despite barely being able to walk due to her edema. I'm going to post her estimate as soon as I get it but I wanted to share this video so you get an idea of how bad it truly is. 😭

6-25-19 Maynard - kitten needing leg amputation

Please join us in welcoming Maynard to SNUGGLE! Poor Maynard was found under a trailer in Poplar Bluff with his siblings. Maynard is only about five weeks old! When Maynard was found, he had a wire wrapped around his neck. His leg was just dangling. We took in this precious boy and named him Maynard which in German means brave, hearty, and strong! Maynard was transported last night to VSS by a very kind and loving lady. Upon examination, they noticed nothing was broken, but his leg was severely swollen and he was unable to move it. He also had several bite marks on his harm. It’s believed he tried to actually gnaw his own arm free from something.😿

Bless his little heart!❤️ He was immediately put on fluids and antibiotics. Unfortunately, he is unable to use his leg and it will need to be amputated. We ask for your help! Maynard’s stay at VSS for last night and tonight will be costly. He will be transported in the morning to Harvester Animal Clinic for surgery which will be costly as well.If you are able to donate to help cover Maynard’s bills, please help us help him. If you are unable, we welcome your positive thoughts and blessings! If we put positiveness our into the world for Maynard, it will come to him! Blessings!💕  **UPDATE** UPDATE 6.25.19 2:45pm Maynard is out of surgery! He is resting comfortably! He is such a sweet boy! Even in so much pain, he was giving head butts to everyone! Bless his little heart!❤️ The leg was severely infected...even after being on heavy antibiotics at VSS! The leg was taken in time before the infection could ravage his tiny body! He’s only 8 ounces!!!! Maynard will go home this evening with Foster Mama Kim where he will get lots of love and special care!❤️Thank you to those who have given this far! His bill at VSS alone was $1127! We are still waiting on the final bill from Harvester for the amputation. You can make a donation here or you may call and donate directly to Harvester Animal Hospital.

6-27-19 - Lucifer - cat with breathing problems from a house fire

Taming Gracie Corporation- This is Lucifer. He's hospitalized at the 24 hour vet and needs donations! This boy survived a large apartment building fire that killed 20 other cats. The smoke inhalation nearly killed him as well...now his lungs are acting up again, and we need help getting him back on the right path! Please help Lucy. He was already dealing with being a cerebellar hypoplasia cat (can you imagine his terror during that fire??), and the smoke inhalation left him with very little vision. After the fire, it took him a long time to be able to stand up. He's been through a lot. We are holding 10 cats/kittens here from that horrible night...I spent countless hours trapping inside and outside the building after the fire. I did and am doing all I can for these little souls who went through an absolute nightmare. Now I need your help. Any small donation is welcome and very much needed. Taming Gracie is a 501c3

6-17-19 Shiny - kitty having trouble breathing

A man contacted me because his cat was having a hard time breathing.  He went to the vet and they told him it sounds like fluid in the lungs.  He could have pneumonia or heart problems and they wanted x-rays.  He did not have enough for x-rays so he asked if we could help. I was in the middle of trying to explain how else he could try to raise additional money when he said, the kitty is choking!  So he jumped in the car and is on his way back to the vet right now. I called in $200 so he could get x-rays and hope he makes it in time!

6-29-19  Sarah  very sick rescue kitten

Carson Cats Rescue: ******UPDATE on Sarah, the "Scruffy Little Fighter" We waited to give an update on little Sarah because we are very superstitious and did not want to speak too soon to jinx anything....but we got enough funds to put down a deposit of $800 for little Sarah so she could be rescued ASAP from Carson Shelter and stabilized. She came into the emergency vet with a 92 degree temperature and weighing only 1lb. The vet was able to get her temperature back up and as you can see from the recent pictures, she looks so much better just after 24 hours. The doctor said that Sarah's "Temp and Blood Glucose were stable overnight. She has no interest in food but took syringe feeding well this am. She tested slight positive on the parvo test but no vomiting or diarrhea . Her white blood cell count is normal. Hopefully this is not full panleuk and test was slight + from recent vaccine. She is a "Scruffy Little Fighter."
Sarah will still need 24 hour hospitalization for at least 3 more days but we are optimistic if she gets the care she needs, she will pull through! We need at least $1800 more to get her through the weekend and to a normal vet or hopefully foster by Monday. Carson Cats is a 501c3

6-3-19  Bella Boo  - tiny chihuahua attacked by a dog

Yesterday my baby girl (Bella Boo the chihuahua) was viciously attacked outside my house by a pitbull. Bella was in our yard using the potty when a lady with her pit cane walking by and her dog broke free from her and attacked my baby. Once I finally got bella out of this pits grip and mouth she was covered with blood and puncture holes in 4 different spots, I picked her up and ran inside so she would be safe and away from that pit. I went back outside to talk to the owner of the pit and she had taken off. I cant explain what this woman looked like because honestly I didnt look at her I was to worried about getting my chihuahua to safety. I instantly took her to the vet where we learned she had developed a hernia from this attack and needs emergency surgery Monday morning. If she doesnt have the surgery she may not make it. This surgery cost around $400 is what the vet had said. My family lives paycheck to paycheck and have NO WAY WHAT SO EVER to pay this. They said I have to pay the same day as surgery and cant do payment plans. I'm lost and dont know where to turn right now. My kids are devastated and so is my husband and I because we don't know what to do to save our baby. She needs surgery at the Athens animal hospital and is scheduled for surgery tomorrow (monday) at 8am if I can raise the money.

My baby is very sick. She quickly got deathly thin and is vomiting yellow bile and can't keep water down. I'm in a bad financial situation at the moment and can't get her to see anyone financially on my own. I'm trying to raise money to take her to the vet and i feel like a beggar but would rather do that than just let her die without trying. I just changed jobs and starting a new one today so I can't get to the vet before monday.  **UPDATE** she keeps throwing up so I had to beg my new boss to let me go home and take my kitty to the vet today.  We are there right now.
