5-1-23  Stray kitty needs vet asap

Palm Beach Purrs: NEW PURRBABY; This sweetheart is named Alice. Alice was seen roaming a neighborhood for days in need of help until finally a kind soul (Thank you, Tricia, and happy birthday!) picked her up and reached out for help. She is so tiny and weighs just under 3.5lbs that we assumed she was a kitten. Maybe six months old but we have since learned she is far older and has been on her own for a long long time. Incredibly thin, missing teeth, fleas matted so deep and skin infection from the misery of the fleas. She also has an upper respiratory infection clogging her nose and if a kitty can’t breath from their nose, they cannot smell. And if they cannot smell, they will not eat. We are working around the clock to see to her comfort and health. But it’s gonna be a long road for her.

5-2-23  Rescue cats need vetting

Meet the crew that is coming in from the Nanticoke situation, (30 cats that need home after death of caretaker) that we were recently on the news about. They are infestated with fleas and will need medical attention when we get them to see where their health stands. They will require updates in vaccines and probably fixed. We are unsure of their age and will no more when we get them.

If you could find it in your heart to donate a bag of food or litter or even towards their medical care. We would greatly appreciate it!

5-2-23 Cat food needed

Forgotten Felines of Corbin, KY INC. is asking for donations. We have started a local TNR case. The women reached out with this story. “I need help. My husband of 40 years didn't make it off the respiratory. He loved dogs and cats. He left me with 34 dogs and I was able to find homes for all but 4 dogs. There are over 30 cats when he passed and 50 by now. Most are wild. There are 4 different locations that I feed them on my farm. I can't do it anymore. They are having kittens and it is costing me over 600 dollars a month to feed them. My money has been cut in half when I lost my husband. I'm running out of things to sell to feed them. I love them all and I don't know what to do to save them. Can you give me some advice. My husband and I had no children to ask for help. It's just me. I need help please.” We have taken in some cats and started spay/neuter as well. We cannot take them all, and some are even feral so she has agreed to keep caring for what we can’t take in. However she is desperately in need of food donations, and fixing the cats is going to cost a huge chunk.

5-2-3 Sebastian - needs a vet ASAP

The Trevor Foundation is asking for donations. ALL HANDS ON DECK We just responded to an urgent call for help regarding this poor cat who looks to have a very bad infected injury needing immediate care ! We named him Sebastian and he is getting trapped so we can get him to the vet asap ! (he has been trapped now). He was spotted in the Paramount CA area by numerous people and networked on a few social media pages over the past few days but Betty was the one who went to help and contacted us ! We don’t know what we are looking at in terms of injuries but we know this needs to be taken care before the infection reaches the bone …**UPDATE** Well I can’t say we are not on pins and needles with this sweet boy because his prognosis is pretty poor. He has multiple puncture wounds that have abscessed on his thigh and it has resulted in a massive infection and his body is very weak. He has extremely elevated white blood cell count while battling a very bad anemia …his levels are 13 for red blood cell where he should be at 35 for a normal healthy adult …transfusion is considered at 18…We are trying to take a practical route to this and go one step at a time …he is being hospitalized with strong antibiotics, pain meds and fluids …his body temperature is low because he had to be sedated to clean and stitch his wounds and with his anemia level, his body doesn’t have much to fight. Right now, we need him to make it thru the night (he did so far) and his body temperature needs to regulate ….all prayers are welcome as he needs a miracle at this point. Our bill thru tomorrow is $1200 and we raised $500 so far so we have ways to go and it probably won’t stop there so we desperately need your help and donations …we can’t do this without you 💔

5-6-23 Shibby - neurological colony cat

It has been a stressful morning as our sweet Shibby was taken in on emergency for a neurological episode and shortly thereafter, we received a distressed call from a colony caregiver. One of his ferals had become wobbly and unsteady on her feet, tipping over as she came out for her usual morning breakfast. With 6 medical appointments in on Wednesday (updates to follow), all cats requiring long term care, it is a challenge to take on the cost of another medical. But we remember trapping this girl 4 years ago for TNVR. And the thought of her, or any other feral, suffering outside without the help they deserve is just too much to bear. We will find a way. Please send positive thoughts to these two deserving cats.  We couldn't help them without you. Our sincerest thanks to Dr. Litteer and the incredible staff of Perry Vet for squeezing in two emergencies on an already full schedule. We are so grateful.

5-8-23 Cats need help

Whiskers, Inc. So we have a situation. A friend of mine has lost her home. She has 6 cats. She is currently staying in a motel until tomorrow. Then she's not sure where she will go. She had to leave her cats outside at the place she used to live and is worried sick. I pulled this from her Facebook page. "Would you all please pray for my cats? I went back to the house tonight to feed them and only one of the six showed up.(he didn't understand why he couldn't come with me when I got in the car) They never not come home and eat. I'm so worried and sick! It's raining out and it's cold. I left the food, water and blankets, but they went up into the woods and there's foxes and coyotes up there. God I hate this situation it's totally sucks...please God keep them safe & help me find a place for us quick." Ok so Although our intake is CLOSED, I just had to do something. I'm stepping out in faith of the amazing people who support Whiskers. We did some rearranging and cleared one of our large cage areas and am going to take these precious babies. HOWEVER they are STILL in the woods and will need caught and taken to Mountainview Vet to get combo test, rabies vaccine. Fvrcp vaccine, flea tx and dewormer. And anything else they need. ONCE I GET DONATIONS. They are already spayed and neutered. Thank God. This Is where we need you. I need 6 or 12 sponsors. Coat is approx $100 per cat. 6 people $100 each Or 12 people to split $50 each.

5-9-23 Maverick - very sick kitten

Community Cat Care. This little 12 ounce fighter is still being hospitalized at Wilson Veterinary Hospital in critical condition. They are doing everything they can to save him. He could really use our help. I have shared the bill estimate. Every little bit adds up. Donation links are below. Thank you for helping Maverick. This little guy was malnourished, dehydrated, hypothermic and virtually unresponsive on intake last night. We rushed straight to the ER. Maverick is Failure to Thrive and has Head Trauma. They still think he has a potential fighting chance so I am giving it to him. As of this morning he is still neurologically off and response to stumuli is hit or miss. The vet believes that it was potentially due to failure to thrive, that he had a fall causing the head trauma. There is a chance with critical care, time and TLC he could turn a corner. He is not eating well with syringe feeding so they are tube feeding. He has been hooked up to an IV since he got there. He is FIV/FeLV negative, but they can’t get enough blood to do any further testing at this time.

5-9-23 Max - kitten with injury

HOME Rescue is asking for donations. I feels like it is no secret that animals have a keen sense of seeking out and finding just the person that will assist them when they are in need of help. Proven once more, as this little kitten found the little boy in the home who is absolutely, and unabashedly in love with all cats. When he found this little baby the family discovered that he was injured, had a severe case of flystrike, and has an upper respiratory infection. He is on his way to the vet NOW to begin the process of treating it and getting it back on the mend.
We are asking our community to help raise funds to cover its medical costs as we get this little one back on its feet and healthy. Its the beginning of kitten season and if we fall in a hole we will have to close intake.

5-10-23  Kelsey - doggie needs surgery ASAP

Hi. I am asking for help for baby girl kelsey. She is 9. She suffered a stroke that left her unable to walk or potty by herself 2 weeks ago. A few days after this event she got some feeling back in her legs but it was annoying to her. As this was all new to me I had no idea she would chew at her feet. My vet did not warn me at all. I left to go to work and came home and she had chewed off her toes. I called the vet. He said wrap it up and put a cone on her. I did. I took my daughter to work and she had eaten more. Almost her entire foot (including her toe pad). I got a different collar/cone. Took her to the vet the next day. He put her on more meds. I noticed it started to feel warm and was swollen. She developed cellulitis. That turned into gangrene even though she was on 3 kinds of antibiotics. It needs to be amputated. She is still.in decent spirits. Eats a little, drinks well. But if we are going to work on getting her walking again we have to amputate and I just don't have it. My care credit was denied. I maxed out my scratchpay on another dog. I have a seizure dog too. So I'm struggling. But I refuse to give up on her. The vet told me today if we amputate, she has a 75% chance of recovery.

5-25-23 Two rescues kitties need additional vet care

Once again I am reaching out to our village. Nelson was found under an abandoned mobile home in the dead of winter. He was left for 9 days without food or water. Roly was found in a bucket at a mobile home park where she ( and her brother) was going to be disposed of. She was only 3 weeks old and her eyes were bulging with pus. They have recently both lost their teeth and now Roly has developed cyst like lumps around her eyes. Nelson and Roly have lost a considerable amount of weight so they are going in to see what this is. Our funds are very low so i am going to be posting another candle raffle and I am asking my village for help once again. There is no way that we would be able to help all that we have helped without our village and we are truly grateful. No amount is too small. Please share this post and keep these two, as well as all the others, in your prayers.
