5-6-24  Cat food/Medical

Since TDC does not fund FIP treatments, we have offered to send food instead to help free up some money for the treatments:

I'm distraught at this point, Bradley has been reviewed by the FIP warriors team and deemed consistent with having FIP, waiting to get dosing information....this is not a contagious condition, I will now try and save three of them from this horrible disease, I am beyond my breaking point financially...how and why is this happening, I thought if you do good, good comes back to you, I don't understand this, someone help me understand this...please pray for Arlo, Alfredo and Bradley that they can be given the gift of continued life and that I may see clearly and have the strength to do this everyday, as failure is not a choice because that means they die.

5-17-24  Churro - kitty needs vet asap

Churro came to our rescue a few weeks ago after she got out of her home and went missing for a week. When she came back, both of her eyes were in bad shape and she was emaciated. Her people knew they couldn’t give her what she needed so they turned to us. She has been to the vet multiple times and was set to have her eyes removed last Saturday but she had lost some weight so they weren’t comfortable performing surgery that day. So the plan was to get some weight on her then go forward with her double enucleation. Yesterday morning I got a frantic call from my cousin who was watching our rescue while my fiancé and I were out of town for work for 2 days saying Churro had a seizure and she had passed away. I asked him to set her in a carrier with a blanket and we would all bury her once I got home in a few hours. Well, to our surprise miss Churro was NOT dead! We walked through the door and I said hey to my cousin and she sprung up in the carrier and started screaming at me! We were all in absolute shock and my cousin just kept repeating “I swear to god she had no heartbeat and she was gone Lexi” She does have a heart murmur so I’m not sure if that could’ve gone into play with what happened. We rushed her to our primary vet where they got her hooked up to IV fluids and did some bloodwork. Yesterday her globulin proteins were high and her albumin proteins were low. PCV was normal. Today they got enough blood for the actual bloodwork and they found her white cell count high and her eosinophil proportions were high as well.Right now she’s responding and is stable at the vet. We’re going to keep her hospitalized on antibiotics (doxy & clavamox), pain meds, and IV fluids for the weekend. This is a huge expense we were not expecting to have at all.

5-18-24  Husky/vet/food

Please say a prayer & keep positive thoughts for a sweet 11 yr old, 100 lb husky mix & her Mommy tonight in Visalia CA 🙏🐾❤️This has been such a hard day for them and an even more horrific night now 💔😭 Lisa & I kept saying this can’t get any worse…then it does. Even if we tried to explain, no one would even believe the last 12 hours they have lived through. This poor woman in her 80’s with serious health issues has no help, for herself or for the dogs.
Funds may be needed tomorrow if we can find a mobile vet to come out. The vet today was over $500 which has been paid we just can’t cover anymore 😞 Praying the dog doesn’t have a fractured leg and just has a strained muscle. (I will update tomorrow once I know more…might not be until early afternoon EST as they are 3 hrs earlier there.) This lady doesn’t deserve how hard life is, she just tries to survive and care for her big dog & 3 littles and she is the caregiver to her bedridden daughter. She deserves a break!!!!!!!! We are in tears, we feel so badly that we can’t go there and help! So again I ask for prayers & positive thoughts

*****Since the vet will not take payment over the phone, we are helping with prescription food for her other dog with pancreatitis to help free up some money

5-20-24 Cucumber - kitten with broken paw

Fishtails Animal Rescue is asking for donations — in Philadelphia.

Welcome to love, Cucumber! This little one was surrender to ACCT Philly with an injured paw. His left paw has been crushed, suspected to be from getting stepped on but we’ll never know, and is infected. The shelter reached out to Fishtails for help, as he would do much better outside the shelter. He’s with our experienced foster Tish, from @tulipstimestamps rescue (follow them on Instagram), and is the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet.“Cucumber is an absolute angel and purring machine. Will scream if not getting attention. Taking medications like a champ and not letting the paw keep him down.“He’ll be getting his leg amputated quickly, as long as his bloodwork is good, as we know this is causing him pain. This surgery will be an estimated $1800.Please consider donating today and help us save animals like Cucumber. The rescue still has an outstanding balance of over $70,000 owed to specialty hospitals.

5-28-24 Buddy - community cat needs vet asap

This poor boy is at South Rowan waiting to be seen. Super emaciated and lethargic, all he does is lay there and shake. Buddy is a community cat whose owner passed a while back and he migrated to another colony close by. He disappeared for a while and showed back up like this.
We need donations to cover his vet bill, as we don't have it. An exam is $85 and combo test is $90. That is the bare minimum, not including treatment or meds. Please consider donating and share so this baby can get better.

5-30-24 Murphy - severe hernia

My little guy Murphy (chihuahua) is in rough shape right now. I have had him for 10 of his 16 years. He was pulled from being euthanized by “Remembering Normandy Dogs” out of Philadelphia. He stole my heart and the rest is history. Murphy developed a hernia ( was under vets care) in his groin area and about 3 weeks ago I had noticed he was not acting normal and his hernia appeared larger. Upon going to the vet and doing testing, it was discovered that his intestines had dropped into his hernia. The risk now is strangulation of the intestines. He requires surgery to not only put his intestines back, but to close up the opening to keep his stomach from falling in. Without this thr worst case is going to be the outcome. He is on pain meds daily and when they wear off he is in immense pain. The doctors have tokd me his lower back is causing him a lot of pain. Now, after todays x-ray, it shows his spine is fused. Watching him like this is just absolutely heartbreaking. He is loved by everyone that meets him. He’s a spunky littleguy always smiling and loves his hawaiian shirt and duck costume. I love him more than anything in this world. Aside from the issues going on, he is a healthy boy, living his best life. Thank you, thank you, thank you”
