11-01-21  Taco - cat attacked by dogs

Hello someone told me about this organization. i was needing financial help with my indoor cat taco that slipped outside and got hurt by my moms dogs that weren’t supposed to be loose.  he was attacked by dogs and needs financial help. his lungs were bruised, a few wounds including a hernia with the fat seeping through they put something in it and bandaged it until he is strong enough to eat and drink to go under surgery which means more overnight stays. this is for the first night, we paid 350 and won’t get paid again until thursday and it won’t be near enough to help Taco. We applied for care credit but weren’t approved and unsure of any other places to sign up for assistance. Thank you.  **UPDATE**  his kidneys aren’t looking good due to the dogs hurting his belly. no internal bleeding but from the test results this morning that’s what they found out. they upped his IV fluids to try to help
if they get worse then he won’t make it and i’ll have to make a really hard choice but it’s best for him. i’m sorry i’m ranting at this point but i need help and i’m scared. this is my first baby i ever got attached to after i found out i couldn’t have babies easily. i’ve had him since he was able to be away from his mom

11-09-21 Cat colony in need of food

Hi, I have a question, is there a place where people donate cat food or supplies (like a food bank).Sorry the reason I ask is because I have two cats (spayed/neutered) they’re my babies and are 100% well take care of, but I recently in the last three months also have feen feeding An injured cat who is now almost back to 100% health but stays around my home, plus two stray kittens and now my neighbor abandoned their two cats as well and I’ve started feeding them as well, so it has become financially a bit hard to now help all these cats and I was just wondering if theirs any place that helps out with that and with traps so I can eventually TNR them as well because I don’t want them breeding and the neighbors doing something to them. Thank you.

11-12-21 horse rescue in desperate need for fund or risk shutting down

The Gingersnap Girls Foundation Equine Sanctuary
I am feeling very defeated this morning. Received our invoices from yesterday and Saturday. I'm not sure how our little rescue will recover. A tough day for the horses of the GGF and those of us who love them. Pye has a serious upper respiratory infection which is highly contagious, with aspiration pneumonia. Long story. All horses were checked by the wonderful Dr. French. Temps taken on all, lung checks, blood drawn on some. Mo and Mandy had guttural pouch scopes, sedation. It has all been a swirl of a nightmare since Pye became ill suddenly last Saturday. Our rescue has been blessed to have never gone through anything of this magnitude in our 18 years. It appears that Mo, one of the Standardbreds we brought in 10 days ago, is a carrier, despite being quarantined for 30 days. He was scoped this evening. We will await results. Has been a scary and very expensive time.
We will have to work very hard to raise funds for our BIG vet bills. Any help would be most appreciated.

Mail - GGF, 101 Ivandale Road. Hamilton, VA 20158 (they can use Clorox Bleach and Dawn Antibacterial soap).

11-15-21  Very ill rescue kittens

Good morning my name is Amanda and I run a freelance Kitten rescue if you will. I am currently at my vet which is Bloomsburg Veterinarian Hospital in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Phone number is 570-784-6440. I have 4 very ill kittens. Their Temps are below 96° severely dehydrated and none of them weighing a lb. The Vet is doing SubQ fluids, sending me with probiotics, antibiotics and food encouragers. I could really use some help with their vet bill. I do have care credit and it's maxed from the 20+ others I've taken care of. It has also come to my attention that I have at least 3 cats that visit us routinely at night so I have set up a feeding station and I'm working on some winter houses, but my hubby is the only one employed right now. The ones in my care I get all better and find them homes.

11-22-21  Chauncey - need a dental ASAP

Chauncey's full mouth extraction is scheduled for Monday. His blood work was off so they ran a fever of unknown origin panel to make sure he didn't have leukemia that was an additional $128. She would like to repeat the blood work before his surgery that morning so I am assuming that's going to be another 100+ on top of the dental. I hate to ask but I have Walter now who just cost me $320 and sunny had a full mouth extraction, Percy had extractions and Lil had her eye removed. It has been a rough three months so any help is truly appreciated. Oh and I have two more newcomers that showed up on the porch that I will need to trap and vet. Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far. like I always say it takes a village and it truly does. If you are unable to donate please say a prayer and share this post.

We were finally able to get Snowflake today, but I’m worried it’s too late with vets being closed for the holiday. We are rushing him to vet now if you can help! Please pray he survives. 🙏🏼💔

11-29-21  Sniffles - cat hit by car

Here is the badly injured cat from the colony behind the villa. He was absolutely most definitely hit by a car. The skin on the leg that was hanging fell off but he can’t use that leg and the hair and skin are off, the skin had just started to grow back recently so it’s an old injury. Definitely broken and I guarantee it’ll need amputated. We all know from Trappers case how much that is. He has a contusion on the head and missing fur and skin from where the side of his head had road rash or got drug along the pavement . He has an awful upper respiratory and possible pneumonia . He has eye infections also. I think it’s odd that no cats at that colony are yellow/orange but this one, so he must of been dumped. He has a SEVERE case of ear mites, and of course he’s an unneutered male. His soul is broken… you can hear his breathing in this video when he tries to eat. This poor guy needs a vet so not only do I want to start trapping tomorrow, I now have two critical cases I’m caring for, and will need to raise money to help with this guys vet bill if he needs an amputation. Plus raising funds for TNR work. It never ends…. This poor boy just looks like he wants to give up. He was weak and tired and so he wasn’t too hard to corner and catch by hand.. hence the scratches on my hands. Guess we will name him Sniffles. And when he’s all cleaned up and strong, he too, will need a forever home.

11-30-21  Animal Care Associates of Scranton

This is not something we usually do, but we decided to donate $100 to this group for Giving Tuesday.  Although they are not that close to my area, they have stepped up several times for us. They helped me rescue an abused kitten and found a beautiful home for her. They also supplied us with a FULL CAR load of cat food for our feral cat colonies we help. They have done a lot for us so I wanted to pay back even just a little for this wonderful group!!
