10-4-21  Tiggy  -  blocked cat

New Moon Animal Rescue  ‼️ EMERGENCY— PLEASE HELP ‼️ Our sweet biscuit maker Tigger was rushed to the emergency vet this evening when his foster noticed he was acting strange. Tigger has a urinary blockage which is life threatening and requires immediate intervention. He is currently undergoing a procedure to clear the blockage and save his life. 💔
But we need your help. The low estimate just to remove the blockage is $1100. This does not include the following days that he will spend in the hospital recovering. PLEASE, if you are able to spare even $1 to help us help. Tigger was on vacation with his foster mom in PA which is why he is in Malvern (not our typical vet = more expensive). If you cannot donate please SHARE. We hate asking for donations but we REALLY need you guys. Please, for Tigger. 😞🖤 We will update with additional posts once Tigger is out of surgery and we receive the final bill. Thank you 😿

10-05-21  Truman  - puppy with parvo

I am writing this post from the Emergency Clinic at 1:53 am. Last week I picked up this little puppy from a guy on McClleland Dr. who had found him but could not keep him. So I reported this sweet puppy as found followed all the steps to find his owner with no luck. I had him at my Vet earlier today for vomiting. He was given fluids and meds and we were sent home. Well I watched the energy drain from his little body and he started to get sicker and lethargic very quickly so we wound up here tonight. What we thought was gastro upset due to chewing on Hickory Nuts is actually Parvo Virus. My heart is breaking. I have paid for his first 24 hours of care plus his earlier vet visit all totaling almost $800. All rescues are full and the little guy (who I have named Truman) is not even finished with his stray hold period. Please consider donating to Truman’s care so he can live a long and happy life. He should not have to pay with his life for the lack of responsibility by whoever dumped him. If you find it in your heart to contribute,  Every little bit helps. Thank you! Laurie Peck Carpenito

10-06-21  Starr  -  kitty with a head injury

Took in this Mama but she’s got a really bad wound on her head. Side of her face is swollen. I’m in between pay periods right now so I don’t have extra $$ to get her seen. Can anyone help or point me in the direction of a vet I could possibly pay later this week. I don’t think it’s painful for her seeing as how she let me attempt to clean it with no hissing/scratching ect.

10-07-21 Cat colony food

Got a call from our Schnecksville colony feeder that she needs more food.  This is the lady we have been helping for many years. She has had over 50 cats dumped on her that she is trying to feed. She is on a fixed income and always needs help. Yes, all cats are TNR'd.

10-08-21  Cat colony in need of medical help

MIAMI - Please help! Last week I reached out to the cat community for help regarding Julian and his cats. (Julian lives/sleeps in his car and works only to pay food and rent for his 50+ cats!) … His cats are being kicked out of the patio where he built them a large catio, and it is a very dire situation. He wants nothing for himself, only for the cats. He keeps the catio clean and tidy, but they all need urgent deworming, flea meds, and 7 of them need urgent care. Miami Animal Clinic has agreed to charge rescue pricing for the 7 that need urgent medical care. However, neither Sara Velasquez (who is helping me organize this, nor I, can be responsible for their account at this time. We have estimated about $70 per cat at minimum…. That’s about $500 for their emergency diagnosis, treatment and care. Miami Animal Clinic will not charge consultation, but donations must go directly to them under my account.

10-08-21  Philly cats need food

My name is Yulia and I lived in Philadelphia for the past five years where I have taken care of all the street cats in my neighborhood. My colony is about the size of 15 cats and growing. I feed these cats daily, I have been buying everything out of pocket. I provide them shelters in the winter, clean water, and often take sick strays to the vet. All the cats in my colony are fixed! But I get a couple of new cats here and there And I’m constantly TNR the new cats that join in my colony.

I’ve helped all my neighbors to get their cat fixed as well as most of them are elderly and don’t drive, it’s in constant uphill battle with the cats that I TNR and some of the neighbors keep putting the cats out once they are not in the kitten stage anymore which is very frustrating for me  I would love to request some wet food for them, as they get pricey I’m only able to buy them the dry food but needed help to get the wet food.

10-11-21  Pachito - Stray with abscess

HELP NEEDED!!  This feral cat has been coming around my home. I have been feeding him and trying to capture him for about 2 weeks. I don’t know what’s going on with his face but there’s a lump (probably infection??) and he’s got other injuries. He also needs to be neutered. Unfortunately and thanks to covid, I’m unemployed right now or I would be able to pay for his care. I managed to trap him today… but Does anyone know someone who can help financially?...Update: The little guy had the abscess drained and treated.

10-12-21  Kittens with Panleuk

So I have devastating news. The kittens that have been in a foster home for a few months... one of them was just diagnosed with Panleukopenia. Louie. Louie is currently at Mountain view vet fighting for his life. They have already been through their quarantine so we have no idea how this happened. They are only 8 weeks old so they have only had one vaccine. We are testing the others today. This includes Checkers, Ida, Georgette, King, Vogue. We will monitor them carefully and take them to vet the minute we see any signs of sickness. I'm just completely devastated. It's a very highly contagious and deadly illness. We need help y'all. We were struggling before and now this. All we can do at this point is pray. We need donations. I'm sorry. We just need help. I have to be strong for them. But ..this is heartbreaking.....we need donations to save their lives.  **UPDATE** Georgette just tested positive now too!

10-14-21  Rescuer in need of assistance

I need help 🆘 It's been a long month. Anyone who knows me knows I'm constantly managing the care of double digit fosters, handling necessary Major Medical for several cats at any given time and doing what I can to partner with other rescuers and rescue groups to try to make a difference. I recently lost one of my streams of income and have had some personal obstacles over the last few weeks and it's left me in a position where I'm struggling to handle rescue related expenses. Between all of my fosters and outdoor cats and spending somewhere around $300 a week in food and litter, I have several thousand dollars without standing vet bills which I need to make payments on and an enormous emergency bill from o of my fosters that crashed last week. I know it's been tough for many people, just hoping that I can ask my friends across the rescue community to help me bridge the gap and cover some of the expenses that come with being submerged in trapping and rescue every day ❤️

10-21-21  Cat food - two different situations needing food

I had two requests for food. One was a two colony section of a mobile home park and the other was a request to help a mennonite farm that had a colony with very skinny and emaciated cats because they don't have much to feed. So a good samaritan asked if we could send some.

10-21-21  Jameson - Severe mouth pain

My cat Jameson desperately needs your help. He has been having very noticeable issues. For some time now he has been making a gesture similar to having hairball but nothing comes comes out and watery eye drainage. We took him to the vet. He needs to have several teeth extracted . I think several back ones and one of his front fang teeth. It is longer than the other one and turning brown. It is effecting his sinus areas. It's causing him to have that horrible sinus drainage, yucky taste and feeling. I'm sure he is miserable. I feel so bad for him. I am here asking for help. Cats are good at hiding their pain.. I can not afford his much needed surgery. Unfortunately I don't have the money to provide that for him. Jameson and I would greatly appreciate any donation even a dollar or two. It all adds up. And if you would be so kind to share to your page I would greatly appreciate it.

10-25-21  Cat colony in need

Hello! I am heavily involved in cat rescue and TNR in Alabama; and I handle everything on my own. I always have around 20 fosters at my house, and also work with colony/feral cats daily. This year I have TNRd a colony of 50 or so, and have started the TNR of a relative colony which is 60 cats/kittens at minimum.  The colony has quite a handful of sick/struggling kitties on top of everything.  The colony food would be a huge help! The recent colony original caretaker is elderly and has been in the hospital with cancer. They were starving the first few times I went out there, and thankfully are starting to look better after more regular feeding and dewormer. Feeding my fosters and the colonies is very hard and has taken a huge toll on my family's finances to where we cant afford hardly anything now. The fosters eat Nutro chicken & brown rice dry food, and Authority chicken &liver canned food. The colony cats eat pretty much any dry food: kit& kaboodle, meow mix, 9 lives, great value, etc. And friskies canned food.

10-26-21  Dexter - injured stray cat

Is there a rescue group that can take this cat? It leaves in a mobile home park I doubt it has an owner judging by its state I don’t know what happened to him but I just feel awful please let me know so I can provide an address I cannot take him in I’m allergic to cats and I have a Great Dane that doesn’t like cats  **UPDATE AFTER CATCHING**  I was able to nab sweet Baxter this afternoon! And he truly is a sweetie! Baxter has been at the I-20 animal medical center, emergency vet, since 6:30. That's 4 and 1/2 hours. everybody is exhausted but they've had a lot of emergencies come in and have to triage. They've taken Baxter to the back to get a blood sample for the combo test. He was just dripping in fleas! We were able to get a Capstar pill down him before we even rescued him so the fleas have all fallen off. He probably has tapeworm so I will be sure to get him a Drontal while we're here. I figure he's going to need some antibiotics. I also got him a dose of Revolution Plus. I will take him home tonight and then we have someone to foster him from there until he heals. We're hoping he is healthy other than the obvious.  His ear is tipped so he has been neutered. I don't know if he has a microchip yet. They should be scanning him while they have him back there.  Thanks to everyone who has pledged $$ To help sweet Baxter. Just message me and I'll give you my number!

10-26-21  McLeod - injured stray hit by car/shot

This kitty was rescued and brought to the Dillon Shelter today after being found under a car that we thought hit her but she has been shot according to vet report.  Message from Dr. Eades: "Did someone actually see this kitty get hit by a car? If so, I think that the kitten was already paralyzed from a gunshot. She has no feeling at all in her left hind leg, very little in her right hind. X-rays show a large pellet next to her lumbar muscles on her left side. I found the entrance wound on the right side. Apparently it passed through her spine and damaged most of it. Her bladder is easily expressed. Her prognosis for use of her hind legs is very poor. I doubt that she will gain control of her bladder and bowels, but I guess it's possible."

10-28-21  Bindi - kitty with swollen face

BINDI NEEDS OUR HELP!!!  3 years ago we tagged Bindi from a South Texas high kill shelter when she was six weeks old. Bindi tested positive for FIV and also suffers from Chronic Sinusitis. A couple of months ago she started having trouble breathing through her nose and her left eye was running. I gave her antibiotics and they didn't help. I took her to the vet where she received a different antibiotic. That didn't help her so we went back to the vet. We tried a different antibiotic and you guessed it no improvement. She was then started on an antifungal. A couple of days later we went back to the vet, because her left check was swollen. The vet said that he felt that a fungus was causing it and that her left eye was tracking to the left. He felt that we needed to give her the antifungal daily instead of every other day. He indicated that there really was no way to determine how much fungus was in her sinus cavity without doing a CT scan. He also mentioned the dreaded C word as a possibility. Approximately one week later the bridge of her nose was swollen. I then scheduled her for a second opinion with a specialist. At that appointment the vet lanced the bridge of her nose to obtain a sample to send to the pathologist. The sample contained no fungus. The next step is to do bloodwork and send it off to determine if she has a fungus and to identify the fungus in order to properly treat it or do a CT Scan that costs $2,000.00. This vet also mentioned the dreaded C word. We would like to do the blood test on Bindi to determine if she has a fungus or cancer. We need help paying for her medical bills. Bindi is a real fighter, but she is miserable. The sooner we can get this blood test the sooner we can help her one way or the other.  New Hope Cat Rescue and Sanctuary

10-31-21  Cat colony in need of food

I wanted to see if you helped people with food, I feed many strays, because nobody else will help me and I live in a rural area, the closest help for me is around 40 miles and I can't go far from home because my husband is on hospice and it's only me taking care of him, other than the visits from the hospice nurse, we have so many past hospital and doctor bills and we pay alot for all his meds that hospice doesn't pay for so I need help paying for the food, I have had every one of them fixed, with the help from paws with claws, and shots.  thank you for any blessing to help feed the strays and my indoor cats, here's a picture of the baby I found in the middle of the road a couple days ago, a wonderful person from one of the cat groups I belong to, paid for her to be seen by the vet because her eyes were infected, covered in fleas and ear mites and was only 5 weeks old the vet said
