12-2-16 Spike - cat with a huge kidney stone

Christmas Miracle Needed For This Angel!  Spike has been diagnosed with a large painful kidney stone. He needs a procedure called nephrotomy (they open up the kidney and remove the stone). I am told that this type of surgery is only done at select veterinarian universities (referral required) and costs upwards of at least $3,000. If you can donate ANY amount at all towards his surgery costs, I would appreciate it. If you can’t help him financially, PLEASE help him by SHARING his story with your friends, family, co-workers, and church members.  I found him when he was a kitten; starving with only 2 hairs on the top of his head; a solid blanket of fleas on his entire body; ravaged with infection. A vet told me "I could find better cats than this at the shelter and to put him down." I found a compassionate veterinarian who helped him. He made it past all those hurdles and has been my best friend ever since. I helped him as a tiny kitten; I am helping him now as a senior.

12-7-16  Stray cat colony

Across the street from my house is an empty field where a lady has been dumping stray cats for years. These cats are malnourished, and usually have multiple medical issues. They frequently find their way into my yard, and most have made my property their permanent home. Also, since I am known as the neighborhood cat lover, neighbors have sometimes even dropped tiny week-old kittens on my doorstep, rang my doorbell, and have run away before I can catch the culprit. Sometimes, they even toss these helpless babies into my yard. I am left with no choice but to care for these stray kittens.  I have been struggling for years with food and vet bills and am constantly trying to give away the cats that I have nursed back to health, but it seems that no one is ever interested in adopting them. The Humane Society has turned me away as well because they are always full. Over the years, I have rescued over 40 cats, and have only been able to get 4 kittens adopted. I have spayed and neutered every cat that I rescue, but the vet bills have caught up to me. Since each of my cats were strays, most of them came to me with serious medical conditions. Many of them have FIV, a few have open wounds, some have leukemia, and a couple have gingivitis. At the moment, my cat Poochie has a wound near his eye that keeps opening up. He has gotten stitches, but he needs more aggressive treatment. I just cannot afford it! The cats with gingivitis, ChiChi and Ginger, have had a couple of extractions, but are going to need more soon. Kitty, who has leukemia, had his eye burst earlier this year and is now completely blind and. I am still trying to pay off those vet bills. My golden retriever passed away last year after a long and healthy 12 years, but had liver cancer and underwent some treatments, that I have yet to finish paying off. We also found a stray Schnauzer a couple years ago and we were never able to find the owner. Another mouth to feed!  We are doing everything that we can to keep our pets, and keep our house, but we simply cannot make ends meet. We are spending more than we make, and the biggest chunk of our expenses are for cat food and vet bills. I never asked for this, but honestly, I can’t see my life any other way. It’s such an amazing feeling to know that we have saved the lives of so many animals over the years, and I definitely want to makes sure I can keep providing them with the life they deserve. Please donate whatever you can! or food, Any little bit helps. All the money will be used to give these sweet animals a healthy and happy life with continuous vet care and tummies full of food.  (NOT a 501c3)

12-14-16  Honey & Bart

I was at the Vet with my own cats and a family came in with 2 cats.  They had terrible URI's and didn't have enough money for treatment.  They were very distraught!  I offered some Dollar Club money to help out.  With their money and ours, they were able to be taken care of.

12-15-16 Levi - dog needs very painful eye fixed/removed

Levi needs immediate eye removal. I met his Mom, Cortney, when I was raising money for Daisy. She reached out to me and I immediately made an appointment with our local ophthalmologist. She diagnosed Levi with lens luxation. His lenses in both eyes have moved and his left eye is in tremendous pain. She said its a genetic condition and he can have a $3,000-$5,000 surgery to try and fix it or remove the eye. She said if the eye is removed any vet can do it and it will be much more affordable than her. I don't have a good picture of his eye right now. I added a couple photos that shows it cloudy, but when you're sitting next to him its very apparent its bad. He won't come out from the covers because the light is painful. He's currently on pain meds to keep him comfortable while we figure out what to do, but Dr Rowley was suggesting this done last week. At the time of eye removal, he will also have an odd looking growth removed from his ear. Which brings us to the total amount we are raising.  The reason I'm reaching out for help is because Cortney is a 30 year old lady battling cancer. She's knee deep in debt. As I sat at the vet office she showed me her scars on her neck and behind her ear where she's had 4 surgeries. The last one was very recent. Originally the idea for this fundraiser was to ask her to draw a portrait for donations, but I hate asking that of her. She's already drained from her physical condition and is still trying to clean houses for a living.

12-23-16 Jasper - rescue dog with severe heartworm

We recently found a dog hanging around our house. Well, we decided on a cold night to let him in and he since has stolen our hearts. His name is now Jasper and is part of our family! Our other dog, Chester loves him too!  Today, I took Jasper into NOAH to have him scanned for a microchipped and a full wellness check done along with his rabies. I am heartbroken to say he has intestinal worms as well as heartworms. He is currently now being treated for the intestinal worms. Unfortunately, we aren't able to start his heartworm treatments because we don't have the funds to do so. I know it's a long shot but I was told by two people I should start a gofundme instead of losing hope. I was told I will have to have him put down if I can't raise the money because heartworms are painful. I'm asking if anyone can spare anything, it would be beyond appreciated. Gofundme takes out 20% per donation, that's why I'm asking for $750 instead of $644. With that being said, it might be better to make the donation directly to the vet? His name is Jasper, he's with North Orange Animal Hospital, under "Jasper Fragstein." I can't thank you enough just for taking the time to read this. Merry Christmas and please put Jasper in your prayers.

12-30-16 Phoenix - dog needing emergency surgery for blockage

Please someone help :( my daughters dog at her dads house ate something and it is stuck in his stomach. He is at west Michigan street vet now but they can not do the surgery today and faces surgery team is out the rest of the week! We have exhausted our resources and have only came up with 1000$ does anyone know of any other low cost surgery places I could call :( everywhere I've called has said no openings for tonight and will cost 3-5000$Phoenix, he will be a year old next month!  Update: We have him at home, the vet tech at west Michigan seems very hopeful that he will be ok through the night. This is excellent news obviously!! He was given fluids, antibiotics, anti nausea, and pain meds to hold him over through the night. Our biggest battle is getting his temp up to normal and keeping it there until morning at which point he will be taken back to west Michigan and admitted and hopefully be stable enough for surgery!!! Prayers do work! So please everyone say a prayer or send positive energy or whatever you believe in please we could use all the good vibes we can get. We have to get his temp to 102 and keep it there!  As of right now we will have to pay 435 at drop off tomorrow which I was able to come up with. We will not know the exact amount until he is out of surgery but if everything goes well it will be less than 700 total!!!! They are amazing and I am so thankful and blessed we have an awesome place like them and Face to take care of our babies!  On a side note... we think it may have been his rope we found it under the couch tore to pieces with quite a bit missing 😔 after this I'm really not sure what toys to even allow him to play with??? He's so strong he can chew through just about anything! When he was 4 months old he ate the coffee table (-_-) any suggestions for good toys that he can't eat?!?!
