12-7-17 Panther - kitten hit by car

3 month old kitten found by fireman infront of fire house dragging his hindlegs with an expression of" Help me", almost knowing he would find someone to aid him. The fireman looked down and immediately knew this was serious. His large wounds clearly evident, his one hind leg clearly shattered. With all his injuries and hardships, he was still ready to accept a pet and give a purr, when shown a little love and affection. He is now recieving the care he deserves, but his bills will add up. He is on Intravenous fluids and antibiotics, and he will soon need surgery to try and save his leg. Please consider helping this wonderful little guy, help us fix him up and then find a loving home for him!

12-7-17 Rayne - horse needing emergency surgery

PLEASE HELP!!! Miss Rayne came into Fallen Oak Equine Rescue back in June 2017 emaciated and she had many wounds on her from horse attacks from where we got her from. She had an area on her withers that was oozing puss. The vet out there in Marianna, Fl came out to our foster home and treated Rayne and put drains into her wither area to help with healing process. Rayne gained a little bit of weight and was healing somewhat, but not like she should be. We transported her to our President’s property and our vet out there came out and did another thorough exam and we also did X-rays on her withers and her face due to issues with drainage in her right nostril. The X-rays showed so much damage which surgery would need to be done to help her and at that time she was not strong enough for surgery. But finally she is now strong enough and is on her second round of antibiotics and has been cleared to undergo her MUCH NEEDED surgeries. The first surgery is to remove all the broken bone fragments from an area on her withers which the surgeon feels was caused from a blunt force trauma. Possibly a tree limb that had fallen on her. She has bone fragments floating around causing her pain and also a wound that will not heal due to the bone pieces there causing an ongoing infection. The second surgery needing to be done is for a severely Infected molar that needs to be surgically removed due to its location and also because the molar is not loose. It has caused MAJOR sinus issues on the right side of her face. She has ongoing nasal discharge of thick, smelly mucus. Surgeon said she may also need a sinus plug. They will try to do them on the same day together depending on how well our girl Rayne is handling it. She will also be needing a lot of aftercare for the back surgery. She will need to be sedated every 4 days to clean out her back wound and to flush out the wound which costs $150 per visit by a vet to come out to do this. Since our board member/foster home Kristin Griffin down in Summerfield, Fl has a veterinary technician background and we have spoken to the surgeon and he feels confident she can do this herself for the aftercare, This will save the rescue at least $600 . The hospital requires services to be payed the day of the surgeries which is set up for Dec 8th (pre-op) and surgery is Dec 12th. Miss Rayne NEEDS these surgeries done asap!

12-11-17 Mama Bear - cat with botched spay needs additional surgery

Calling All Angels - Mama Bear Needs Your Help!!!! She came to me with serious health complications.. Her uterine stump is surrounded by fluid; she is absolutely filled with infection. She is very hot, nauseous, lethargic, and weak. I am told this is due to a spay that was not done correctly. She is currently on 3 antibiotics and pain medications. She has been to the vet twice already and will go again Tuesday for further ultrasounds. The low estimate for this surgery is $650.00 If you could find it in your heart to help her I would appreciate it. I am not a rescue; just an ordinary person trying to make a difference one cat at a time.

12-19-17 Edgar needs a Christmas miracle!

Edgar (FP17-490) was picked up by Farmington Animal Control last Thursday,12/14/17. The ACO contacted MCCA because Edgar was in obvious pain and distress. We arranged for him to be taken right to the vet. Edgar’s eye is an old injury, but he has inflamed tissue in his mouth and throat, causing his tongue to protrude and making it very difficult for Edgar to eat. He was given a steroid injection and sent to a medical foster home for observation. When he hadn’t improved by Monday, 12/18/17, he was scheduled for exploratory oral surgery, a biopsy of the inflamed tissue, and the insertion of a feeding tube.
MCCA is a 501c3 organization that relies on donations and financial pledges to pay for emergency vet care for pound and community cats. Please consider donating for Edgar’s immediate and future medical care.

You can mail a donation to: MCCA, P.O. Box 1400 Farmington, MO 63640.

12-19-17 Nala - needs emergency vet are for very high fever!!

Hi everyone! I really hate to do this because I would never want to ask anyone for money but we are desperate. Two weeks ago Nala was found in Jersey City and she was stuck in the snow in the freezing cold. She is anywhere from 6 months to a year. All she wanted was to be in a warm home and thats where I came in. I became her foster parent and I have been working hard to find her a home. Nala is the sweetest cat I have ever came across, she only wants to cuddle, eat, and play. Yesterday, she went to the vet to get spayed and get all of her vaccinations. When the vet put her down to do the surgery he then found out she was already spayed but her ear was not clipped. When I picked her up she was not herself, so this morning we decided to take her to the vet. The vet we used yesterday is closed on Tuesdays so I brought her locally. She has a 106 fever currently and has spent the day at Closter Animal Hopsital. Nala is not getting better even though she has been on anti biotics and fluids all day. She is being transfered now to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital where she will get blood work, an x-ray, another IV, and have to stay the night. This is all we know so far and I know that if something does come up in her blood work or x-ray, I will be willing to do anything to treat her. Nala is under the care of Judi Eskenazi and the Animal Rescue Mafia aka ARM NJ. We currently do not have the funds to treat Nala and I would really be so grateful for any possible donations because I can't afford to treat her myself or with the rescue team. Anything helps. Thank you so much.  (Rescue is brand new and not a 501c3

12-21-17 Duce - dog with abscess and pancreatitis

Staci Hardcastle-Johnson:
I just got a call from a family that needs a Christmas miracle to help this beautiful boy named Duce. Duce is a 3 year old rescue dog that was adopted from HSU. Duce hasn’t been feeling well and his family took him to their vet this morning where he has been diagnosed with pancreatitis. His family is literally having to make the decision to choose between Duce’s vet care or giving their little kids a Christmas right now. The bill stands at $498.08 and the family is scraping together what they can without having to return Christmas gifts. Time is of the essence if we are going to save this boy and keep him with his family for Christmas 🎄 Pretty please with mistletoe on it ? 💙💙 Please share far and wide and please let me know if you donate so we can keep track of how much is still owning and if we can go ahead with treatment ❤️

12-26-17 Cat that hasn't eaten in 6/7 days

I just received an e-mail from someone who was contacted about a very sick cat. She is about a year old and for some reason unknown she has not eaten for 6-7 days. She is very concerned the cat is now skin and bones. The cat appears hungry but for some reason can’t eat. I told her it is an emergency she needs a vet if not today for sure tomorrow. Can she take it to a vet. She said no she has no money. She stated she had kitten shots, is not spayed but she was left alone for a week. I am Concerned she could have eaten ribbon, tinsel something to block the belly. She is NOT seeing her poop or pee. My heart is breaking here on a holiday things are closed. Poor cat!
