Frosty had her first of many follow up visits. Overall she has improved since being sent home 5 days ago.  She has gained some weight. When she left she was 1.12 kg. She is now 1.36 kg (3 pounds)
She is running a temp of 102.9.  Her breathing is still rapid; this will be the case for many weeks to come. I have to continue to watch her for any respiratory distress, open mouth breathing etc.
She has some clear discharge from her left nostril and this may be from a viral upper respiratory infection. This however does not change our treatment plan. I have to watch for respiratory distress, open mouth breathing, hunched posture, decrease in play.
The xrays show persistent pneumonia, but more of her lung fields are clear then at discharge 5 days ago. We are continuing the aggressive treatment to kill off the Strongyloidiasis worms in her lungs. She got prescriptions refilled and doses adjusted due to weight. Her tail is at that watch and see stage. They can not safely sedate her at this time to surgically remove it. A section of it is dead from the frost bite. It will be what eve happens first, falls off, or surgery.THANKS to everyone who has been supporting, praying for, donating to and sending LOVE to Frosty!

THE QUICK UPDATE: Buddy continues to fight and we will continue to fight for him. It is a long road to healing, and the absolute best road FOR BUDDY has been chosen. This is the path that will give him the greatest chance to survive and heal. IV antibiotics, Fluids, PAIN CONTROL, Sedation as needed and when the wounds are being treated, Hydrotherapy as tolerated, Medication applied directly to the wounds and frequent assessments. Allowing the rectal wound to heal slowly from inside out and keeping all wounds clean and dry.

Update on all the babies at Another Chance Pet Rescue. Julie Lafferty is missing her babies. Remember Franklin is going to have his amputation this coming Thursday. Please continue to pray for Julie.  Wanted to send some kitten love as the past few days have been very emotional for our group. Julie is hospitalized with a very serious staph infection. She is in a great deal of pain. Her foster baby had surgery to have all of her teeth removed. Her little Franklin is due to have surgery to have his leg amputated Thursday. (Julie along with Wendy founded ACPR). We also have several other babies receiving supportive care. Olson is doing well in his foster home, Martok is still learning to trust so we can get him to try and walk, Tigger is up and down with his prolapsed rectum, we have several with upper respiratory infections including a brand new brown tabby name Magnus that I picked up from the shelter today. He is very sick but so friendly. Rittlers ear is healing nicely from the frost bite. Molly and her babies continue to grow and are doing very well. If you want to send Julie are Get Well card please email karlabarkley72@aol.com and I will send you her address. She has been so appreciative of all the support you all have given.

Franklin, Star, and Julie update from Diane:
Franklin was such a sweetie during his visit with the surgeon. He had a large seroma that required draining. God bless him, he was such a trooper and did not fuss at all. The seroma is not infected, but the cause is from continual aggravation of the leg flopping/hitting/rubbing. His amputation surgery is set for next week. Please pray with me....Star did well during surgery and while in recovery also the doctor said. She was still groggy from the anesthesia and seemed relatively comfortable when I brought her home. She will be on pain meds and antibiotics. We should expect that she will try to eat a bit later or tomorrow. We have a tasty wet food all set for her. She is such a beautiful little love. Thank you so much for everyone who donated toward Star's surgery. We had one final donor today that covered the remaining balance of her surgery. Julie, my dear friend, continues to be hospitalized. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Despite her illness, her sole focus was on the precious little ones. She definitely is an earth angel.

Buddy's condition remains the same. They are trying to get infection under control before proceeding with any surgery.

Frosty the Frozen Kitten Frosty had a great night. She eat like a champ.  Took her meds with some resistance.  Explored her new area.  Eventually she figured out potty box. No accidents on the floor at all this morning  She has a very faint Meow... sort of hard to hear it. She purrs much louder then she meows. She got to have some big bed blankie snuggle time last night before I dozed off.  We get up early here. 2 am as the alarm goes off what else do I hear?? Jingle Bells coming from Frosty's area. Grabbed the video camera

BUDDY UPDATE
Buddy has been on sedation and pain control, IV fluids and antibiotics for almost 5 days now. It hurts when he walks and sitting is almost impossible for this sweet natured boy. The staff assists him in lying down and getting comfortable. They have been helping him get up and down and assuring all his needs have been met fighting to get him to the point where he can withstand further assessment and surgery. While Buddy has shown that he wants to live he does eat and really soaks up loving attention his future has looked grim.. We have said as long as Buddy is fighting to live, we will fight for him and we are very serious about that. As usual with the serious cases like Buddy’s, I have gotten several of the messages telling me I need to “just let Buddy go,” and several that have been a little less direct than that, but implied the same thing. I have learned to take all of this in stride and try to explain that it is NOT compassion to “let a dog go” who is fighting with all they have to survive. Buddy has been fighting. He is not ready to give up and we will not give up on him. On his second day with Dr. LaVine, after he had been seen and assessed for the morning, the staff settled him down and tried to get him as comfortable as possible. He was given sedation and drifted off to sleep. Valerie said when she and Kristy were back at the front of the office, they heard a dog crying out and whimpering. Valerie said “THAT CANNOT BE BUDDY…” knowing he had been given strong sedation. They went to check on him because the cries SOUNDED like Buddy’s cries. He was there … asleep … and crying out in his sleep.  A POS DID THAT TO THIS WONDERFUL DOG. They have shown him an evil that I cannot imagine and they broke his spirit … but Buddy still has the will to live with what he has to go through to get better. He will not allow the evil to win take his life without a fight. And I will not take the chance he has away from him until I know there is no chance.  Valerie told me that Buddy is doing better. He is getting up on his own now, and though he is still in pain and still must battle the infection a little longer before anything else can be done … Buddy is fighting harder than ever and for today … he is winning. There may be setbacks, though we pray he keeps moving forward. And he still has a lot of treatment to go…The good days are small miracles standing alone for Buddy and we have to remember what he has been through. He has a very long way to go because a POS took pleasure in torturing Buddy. There is NO DOUBT in anyone’s mind that this dog has not only been through hell, but met up with a demon while there. His backside is bruised, ripped and bloody. It appears to have been penetrated with more than a human body part. His testicles are very sore and very bruised. There are NUMEROUS other injuries to his body. He has cuts and sores all over his frail, emaciated body. There are indications he may have been used as bait either before or after the most serious injuries were inflicted. But there is no doubt he was tortured. Barbara and George had a wonderful visit with Buddy. He walked all the way to the front of the office to see them and spend a bit of time with them. Barbara said she could see he is in pain, but she can also see a look of hope shining in his eyes and his face is so much brighter now. Please know that Buddy is NOT out of the dark woods yet. Buddy must be helped to get comfortable still and it takes a lot of time for him to find a position that is a little less torturous for him. He cries out in his sleep, sometimes from pain … and no doubt from the terrible memories that will haunt him for a very long time. He has a long way to go and we cannot let our guard down for a moment. We can enjoy this good day that he has had … and pray for many more … hoping soon the good days will be plentiful and the worry past. So please remember to keep the prayer circle going … every morning at 9 am EST and evening at 9 pm EST … stop for a moment and whisper a prayer for Buddy.

Red got through surgery. Stay tuned for pictures!

Frosty's going home on Thursday!
She will be on a bunch of meds for many different things.
One of which will be an oral script for a ronchodilator. We will go this way instead of the machine and the albuteral/breathing treatments. She was removed from the oxygen and her IV's on Sunday night. Been doing well.  She is standing and trying to walk, but is wobbly. Her tail was completely shaved - after yesterdays visit when I found that lump. Turns out it is indeed frosty bite as originally thought. So her tail (feel) as you stroke the length from butt to tip I was feeling "normal normal normal, bump, super skinny" The super skinny part will probably fall off. Didn't think to ask if they felt they should just amputate now while she is there. Brain fog.
She continues to eat well and clean herself. When she is home she needs to be quarantined from the other animals the coarse of her meds.- which for the trongyloidiasis is a 10 week treatment, and then every month for 6 months she needs a fecal. Long time in Quarantine! Guess these eggs can shed at any given time and Strongyloidiasis is very contagious and deadly.

Just picked up Popsicle and all I have to say is Dr. Solomon's has worked a miracle. She looks wonderful. The price of the surgery to reattach the skin back was $1283.00 more than I expected, but then miracles don't come cheap..and every thing about this little kitty being rescued was indeed a miracle and a blessing.

I have sad news about Bitsy. We had to help her cross the rainbow bridge this morning. Apparently, someone tried to light her on fire, but did not succeed. The injuries around her mouth were caused by feline leukemia. She was in a lot of pain with inflammation around her gums and her sinuses. Very underweight because she couldn't eat. I almost had to take her to one of the emergency vets half hour away because our vet was closed today, but our wonderful Dr. Tarabrella (from Monroe Family Pet Hospital) went in on his day off and took care of her. Thank you Dr. T!!! And thank you to the angel who was going to foster and adopt Miss Bitsy. Meg Melampy
Meet Bitsy. I just picked her up from Officer Reese. She was told someone put something lit on fire in her face a few days ago. She has burns in her mouth and smells like infection. She will go to the vet tomorrow. Carletta advised me on some pain pills to give her for tonight. She is afraid but is very loving as well. Having difficulty eating. If you are interested in fostering her until we find her a forever home, please let me know here. And of course, donations gladly accepted for her care at Monroe Family Pet Hospital. 513-539-8737 or you can go through paypal ; donate@justiceforjoseph.org. -Meg

Yaaaaah!!!!! Zed is going back to Molly and his sisters tonight!!!!!!
Good news!!!!!!! Wendy and I have decided to try and put Zed back with his mommy tonight! I am so excited he will be able to return to his siblings as I felt so bad he was by himself. I have not heard any sneezing yesterday or today. Let's pray mom excepts him back and he nurses from her!

Butterball had surgery today to remove the wire from her lower jaw which had been broken during the beating she took back last fall. This was a quick photo taken just as she was sedated prior to surgery. She did come through surgery okay but here is the update from Felicia who was with her.
"She is now out of surgery. Our vet said that she is doing well and the jaw feels firm with not too much scar tissue build up. We will have to see how well she eats and if it is strong enough to hold as a permanent fix. Her temperature and blood pressure dropped low during surgery so he did not want to address the eye enucleation at this time because it would have taken a length of time. In her weakened state we chose to end after the mandible procedure and not continue."
So, Butterball will eventually need surgery to remove the ruptured eye (enucleation) but at this time there is no rush. She will be allowed all the time she needs to heal, for her jaw to be evaluated and her progress to be monitored. We said from the outset that this would be a long process as we never want to push Butterball beyond what her little body can handle. She can take as much time as she needs. Although we feel the same about all of our rescued cats and kittens each with their own special circumstances. We appreciate all the love and financial support you have shown to sweet Butterball. You've enabled us to give her the best care possible. Thank you again to all those who've donated to her care and to the many who've prayed and shown you're continued support.

Popsicle is now at Middlehope Veterinary Hospital and Pet-n-Play Resort now having surgery to TRY to fix her injury. Not sure if it will work but we are giving it a try.. They are calling me when surgery is done... The Cost is between $1000 & $1200 She was rescued to help her. unfortunately this is what it will take to help her...Just pray it works for her.. Will show her photo when she get back home.. They think tomorrow I should be able to pick her up.

A Frosty update!!!!!!

Frosty, the Frozen Kitten, is doing a little better every day and her struggles are a touching reminder of the value of each beautiful creature's life. Frosty has been at the emergency clinic for five days now, and the bill is mounting daily. We can't give up now..... We've come too far! But we need your help! We have over 200 OSF Facebook group members, and--if each of you could share Frosty's story with two of your friends--that would make 400 more people who could share her story with two of THEIR friends.....I know that people are feeling broke right after the holidays, but PLEASE.....can you send in even a small donation? And, if not, can you at least share Frosty's story with your animal-loving friends? We are now several thousand dollars in debt, and at some point we will have to throw in the towel if we can't collect more donations than we've received so far...

Follow up on the beautiful Siamese and Himalayan kitties left without life necessities because of a domestic violence situation. They were rescued last night by All Things Pawssible Animal Rescue. Thank all of you who shared and cross posted. The article attached is very informative about domestic violence and animal abuse. It, also, provides ideas how you may be able to help with these situations in your own community.

Franklin is a little better tonight but not normal for sure. Lots of sneezing and wheezing. He has been started in an antibiotic and that upset his tummy and made him throw up. My poor little man. Also, he has an appointment with another orthopedic Dr. On the 20th to see if there is anything he can do to help him. He is starting to get very calloused paw from walking on it and it is a bit angry looking sometimes just want to explore all his options.

Zed weighs in at 12 oz tonight! He was at the adoption event with me today as I have to bottle feed him every 3 hours. The volunteers took turns fighting over him Wendy got to see him also and was happy to see how much he has grown. He is still sneezing and has a runny nose but that appears to be clear. He is starting to play more-I just want to get him 100% healthy so he can be with his siblings and mom and have others to play with.

Keller update: Keller has been doing great! He was neutered this week and had all his shots. I have posted a few videos of his silly little antics to show you how he spends his days making me laugh. At night I keep Keller in one of the bedrooms as I worry he will get hurt in the night. Each morning when I enter the room he walks up to me, I pick him up, tell him "hi handsome", then I give him a kiss right on that cute little mouth of his. My computer desk is in that room also and sometimes when I am in there if he cant find me he crys out until I call him so he can find me. Yesterday on two different occasions he went to jump up on the couch and missed-it was so funny to watch him jump almost waist high thinking he was jumping on the couch only to miss and land right back on the floor. I believe he is blind but I also believe he can see shadows/lights. His favorite toys are the springs-he carries them all over and plays all day with them. I find them all over the place. I am so lucky to call him mine-he brings a smile to my face everytime I look at him as it is still hard to believe what he looked like just a few months ago.

This is one large boned boy! He was only about 5 1/2 lbs after cleaned and de- matted - and today ---- drum roll -- he weighs EIGHT pounds. He will probably be about 12-15 lbs when healthy !
He is the sweetest boy! Despite all he has been through he gives the biggest head butts and rubs his face all over ours! He laid in my lap while I cut the matted hair. He is a real trooper! He is eating A/D with nutracal and viralys. He is tolerating the doxycycline and baytril well! I just cannot express how incredibly amazing this boy is considering all he has gone through. Thank you to everyone who is helping, praying, donating, giving encouragement!! It means the world to him and to us!

Hope update!
*****Update*** just got an awesome call from Doc V, our amazing vet. Hope was stable enough for them to take out the drains from her bladder. He said she may actually have full control over her bladder in time! He said that she is extremely feisty and very alert. Apparently she put on a bit of a show as they were trying to change her dressing... They did manage to snap a pic for me which I now can show you all! God Bless

4/1613  UPDATE: Beauty has a broken hip and fractured front leg. He needs surgery to repair the hip so we've had to raise his chipin goal: http://chipin.anjelliclecats.org/donate/beauty-high-rise-fall-kitten/
The front leg will need to heal on it's own and he is doing fine otherwise. Please share or donate to his chipin if you can!Thank you to all our supports and donors, you make rescues like these possible!

4/1513 PUPDATE ON CELINA: Celina had her x-rays on Thursday. Nearly 6 weeks of crate rest, limited mobility with a splint, and limited weight bearing and still no new bone formation. Her injury from being hit by a car is now considered a failed fracture. She will absolutely need surgery.  We have a few calls in to orthopedic vets and are awaiting call backs on Monday about how they may able to assist. We want to do all we can to save her leg and expect this to be a costly surgery as the fracture is right at her elbow joint and any correction needs to be done so it does not impinge the movement of the joint.

4/1413 Dynasty  was hit by a car in early February and taken to the ACC. Anjellicle immediately rushed her to one of our vets, where Tenth Life collaborated with us for Dynasty’s intensive surgeries. Dynasty had a broken jaw, swollen eye, and ruptured abdominal wall. She was also pregnant, but the kittens were lost. She went through two rounds of surgery: the first to wire her jaw and repair the abdominal wall, and the second was to remove her bad eye. She was also on a feeding tube for several weeks. It’s been a long, difficult road for Dynasty, but she is now fully recovered and in foster care, waiting to be adopted! Despite everything she’s been through, this sweet girl loves to be held and just wants to be with her humans all the time.

4/6/13 Atlas  Does everyone remember Atlas, our very first featured animal in need? He is now doing so well he is ready for his new home! He is currently in the Southern NJ area and would really love a place and family to call his own. If you are able to provide a foster home in the meantime, that would be helpful too!  His rescuer, Randall's Rescue is overwhelmed with cats right now and could really use some help.
Please post here or on Randall's Rescue Page if you are interested.
For those of you who might not know his story, you can read all about it here...http://www.thedollarclub.org/atlas_our_inspiration.html

4/6/13 Misty, Gather together friends, our puppy baby Misty needs as many good thoughts and prayers as she can get!!!   Please support Misty; she needs all the prayers and support she can get; on top of fighting her nasty bacterial infection, she's now coughing and has been moved to the isolation unit :(
http://hendrickboards.com/s/save-misty

4/5/13  Update on Misty. Poor baby is still is very bad shape. Prayers and good thoughts are what she needs right now.  I just came from visiting Misty & my heart is broken again. How could a human being doing this?! She is so sweet & in terrible condition. Her wounds are so deep, you can see her skull! The wounds on her neck are the worst & they are covered thank god :( I saw enough. She's healing a little bit every day & will have surgery early next week to remove the skin that is dead.
Please continue to pray for her & donate what you can to her recovery fund @ www.nycsecondchancerescue.org/donate/
She's going to be hospitalized for the foreseeable future.  We love you Misty, keep fighting! ♥

4/3/13  From Homeless Animal Lifeline,  We would like to thank everyone from The Dollar Club who sent dollars to Homeless Animal Lifeline for Holly! We truly appreciate it!

4/1/13 Helene Vetro Errico
Love how your helping Freckles, he's doing so much better thanks to your organization :)

3/31/13 FRECKLES Easter Update
Our sweet boy had another great night. His version of a great night is to not have any complications. Something that a lot of people do not realize is that he is still in ICU in Critical Care and will be for quite a long time. The pictures add weight to him but he is still literally skin and bones. We have made a lot of progress but he still has months and months to go with his medical care. Because he still has open wounds, his body is working overtime to keep up with this calories it takes to heal. We had to cut back on his food to get him out of Re-feeding Syndrome. He is still getting enough calories for a large dog. A lot more than he would have ever required. Healing takes a lot of energy and the fact his wounds are still draining takes a lot more. He has not gained any weight over the last 5 days. We are not concerned because he is eating so much. Any animal that has been starved to the degree he was has to go through this process. The new Vacuum Wound Care System arrived yesterday and was immediately put into action. It is pulling the fluids out of his wounds which enables us to not have to change bandages as often. That is a huge plus for him since he has to be sedated to do them. The video above is of him doing rehab last night. They are having to support him but he is doing his best to walk and use his legs which he has not been able to do since he was rescued. For him to hold his weight on his legs and not collapse is a Miracle. Our Little Wonder Boy’s recovery does not go by one day at a time progress but goes by one minute at a time. Tremendous progress has been made. He is still off his insulin and his blood pressure medicine and is stable. He is still on heavy antibiotics and fluids and will be until his cultures come back normal. All of his wounds are coated in a layer of Manuka Healing Honey that comes from New Zealand to help his wounds heal faster and to fight infection. FRECKLES is a happy boy that has adjusted to his care and surroundings. There are certain people that he immediately lights up when they come into the room. They crawl into his area and give him lots of affection and help with his healing process. Thanks for all the support and encouragement with the care of this incredible little dog. He survived another day without any complications and that is worth celebrating.

3/29/13  Update on the ferret! Grace has gained weight! She's over 400 grams (came in at 360)! We were a little worried when she hadn't gained in about three days, but seems like she's gaining now. Hooray! You go, girl!  Folks have been asking about how and where to send donations. You can donate online via our website, wmafo.org, or via WMAFO, P.O. Box 223992, Chantilly, VA 20153, but...if you would like to send a check (or gifts for grace), the easiest way for us is to send it me, Lisa Oestereich, at my home -- that way I do not have to go visit the PO box in Virginia. Please email info@wmafo.org and I will email you my home address. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of good wishes, prayers and donations for Grace. Seems like she will be in crticial care for a good period of time while we try to get her BUN down to normal. Her liver values were pretty awful too, but they will take weeks to come down, not days.

3/29/13  Update: Kitties have a cold and are very emaciated. Hopefully, there are no other issues and we can all send some positive vibes and prayers for these little ones!
The 2 kitties at Animalkind today-after a bath and lots of good food.

Mar 28, 2013 8:47pm  Freckles Night Update.......Our wonderful little Angel has beaten the odds and is showing us all how determined he is to survive this. Today he was a totally different dog. He woke up alert and hungry. He sat up with his head lifted for quite a long time just watching all of the techs and Doctors to about their morning rounds. He is getting stronger every day. We have cut back his food and that is helping his insulin levels. His cultures have come back and none were staph resistant bugs. They are definitely more aggressive than everyday bugs but are sensitive to several different antibiotics. Now the bad news, his right foreleg is continuing to produce necrotic skin. We did more surgery today to remove the dead skin which you can see in the photo. I think it is important for everyone to see what we are dealing with daily. The good news is that after the removal, we were able to get viable tissue on the edges that we feel will begin to grow healthy tissue. It is a slow process but a necessary one to save the leg. All dead tissue has been removed from the rear leg and today it looked pink and viable. Freckles still is septic and has infection in his limbs and system. We have made wonderful strides with this which his blood work shows. I can't even begin to tell you how incredible it is to see this little wonder dog hold his head up and try to get up. He is our Little Miracle. His strength inspires us all to fight that much harder for him. The World is a better place because of Freckles. The leg picture will be posted on his web page and now I will delight you all with his Rehab Session today. Thanks for caring and sharing his story of Triumph over Tragedy. Miracles do happen.

3/27/13  Awww the babies have been bathed! Remember this from yesterday? This is the same group who rescued Minou the kitty with the missing ear from last month. They rescued these 2 more from certain death in a high kill shelter. This is them after a nice bath and lots of food. I also just discovered that their animal shelter burned down last year and they are trying to rebuild. I did not know that before today! So again, I am calling on extra dollars if at all possible. I will post a link to their page so you can see a small movie clip about the fire and also for donating information.  The 2 kitties at Animalkind today-after a bath and lots of good food.

3/27/13  FRECKLES UPDATE.....I am happy to say that our dear boy has been able to hold his head up some today. Before we had to help him and today he seems to be a little more lively. He is eating like a champ and has remained stable all day with constant care and monitoring. Here he is taking a treat. He is still in ICU Critical Care and will remain there for several weeks. The other good news is that he has stopped retaining fluids and his body is becoming more regulated. You can tell there is a big difference from yesterday’s cute puffy picture to how he is now. The new one is how he should be. Thanks for all the wonderful help and prayers for this incredible little dog.

ATLAS GROOMED HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the last 'first' we were all waiting for. He has now come full circle. Here is the before and after photo.
Thank God for Cindy of Randall's Rescue, a tiny but mighty group who chose to save this life rather than throw it away.  For all the newbies out there, this boy was the inspiration for this group, our first featured animal in need.  Show this group some love with your 'likes', they could really use the support so they an continue to rescue more kitties like Atlas. Thanks to all who helped and supported this beautiful boy!
(And lucky me, I got to meet him and hold him) https://www.facebook.com/RandallsRescue?ref=ts&fref=ts

3/9/13 Gunnar Update Sweet GUNNAR is doing wonderful. Since he has so many large places that do not have any skin on them, he has to have special surgical bandages that are sewn in place. The bandages are replaced every 24 hours based on how much drainage they are getting from each one. Since he was not allowed medical care for three days, every opening became infected. Gunnar is handling all of his love and care with cautious optimism. I think he is beginning to realize we are the good guys and all we want to do is get him well and give him lots of love and affection. He is beginning to warm up to us.  The other good news is that there has been an arrest warrant for the person that did this. He is turning himself in tonight with his Attorney. We are giving the authorities all the information, pictures, medical reports, etc. to convict this person so he will never hurt an animal or anyone again.  Thanks for all the outpouring of love for dear Gunnar. He is a wonderful dog that will make an incredible member of the Family once he has healed. He will be in the hospital for about a month healing. The picture above is him taking a break outside from the hospital environment. He has been through a lot with the incident, surgery and all of the pain he has been through. He is comfortable now and that is exactly how we want him.......RELAXING.

3/9/13  Update on Neko, poor baby! Look at NEKO today! SO much better. Still frail but the mange is healing. Just 4 lbs, Neko is eating up a storm! Poor thing must have been starving on the street, along with being so sick. NOW for some other news. We think Neko is a GIRL! Still unknown as her mange is contagious to humans and she's so uncomfortable we'd rather not handle her right now and just let her rest. We will let you know once we know for sure if Neko is a boy or girl. She has a good 2 months of recovery ahead in a wonderful place with constant and excellent care.  Many kitties die from mange this bad, but she is in the best hands and has already shown so much improvement! Hurray!  Thank you for helping us help her. http://www.straycatalliance.org/donate/donate/donate-direct

3/5/13  Update on Maxie  Maxie had most of her teeth removed today. She still has her canines and incisors. However, she may still need them removed. She was under anesthesia too long and since they are much harder to remove, the Vet did not want to risk Maxie's health. She will head back for a recheck in two weeks.  Thank you for your continued support.  Maxie: http://www.gofundme.com/25fxbk

3/3/13  Good news!  Today is a new day! Samson woke up hungry and purring!!!! Day by day I suppose!

3/2/13 Update on Dixie: Went to Vet yesterday, she doesn't have to wear her front bandages anymore. Front paws are looking great. We are still concerned about her back right paw. No infection!! Still not sure if she will be able to keep all of her toes!! We love her and continue to work with her each day. I will send some updated pictures today. Thanks everyone, without your help, we would not be able to provide all the care that she has needed  She is so ready to get back outside...thank you everyone for all your help.

3/2/13  Our boy Samson has another update here:  The vet has changed his pain medication and believes that he may be experiencing "phantom pain" from the portion of the tail removed. He has not been himself at all and is rather skiddish. He is resting in room with the heat up just a little and we are spending time with him. When he becomes uncomfortable, we give him the space he needs. It has not been a good day for him; however, we trust that the vet is right when she tells us that this will pass. Thank you so much for touching base.  Saving Samson You guys are the best.

3/1/13  Very worried about Samson. He seems to be having these mini psychotic moments and he is trying to hide constantly. Last night and tonight he was acting like he was being tormented by a ghost and he was swatting the air and hissing while appearing to try to get away from something. He isn't as welcoming to company either. Has anyone ever fine through this with their per post surgically? Some input is welcomed!!!

3/1/13 Claudia update!  One week after having her leg amputated because of rampant infection, Claudia is recovering well. She is still in the hospital, as you would expect after an operation of that magnitude, but she is slowly regaining her strength. No word on when she will be ready to go home yet, but we will let you all know as soon as we hear!  Sadly, we are still about $2000 short on donations to cover her vet bill. So please continue to share for donations!

2/27/13  Samson gets neutered today!

2/25/13 Atlas Randalls Rescue shared Veterinary Referral Center,  Back from our 2 week check up with Atlas Veterinary Referral Center, VRC with Dr. B! We gave him our THANK YOU basket of goodies, and I am sure they are enjoying it right now as I write!! He said his mouth looked WONDERFUL and I have to say, I AGREE!!!! See all the dark red inflammation!! GONE!!! See the huge mass under his tongue...guess what!!?? GONE!!! You would not believe the inside of this boys mouth !! Had I not seen this transformation with my very own eyes I would not believe it myself!! He is to continue on his antibiotics for a couple more weeks, continue his mouth rinse and bulk up! 8 lbs 1 oz today. HE LOOKS AMAZING!! Thank you so much to everyone who made this possible for Atlas...you truly saved his life. I am coming up with something special regarding this...stay tuned!!

2/25/13  Minou  Animalkind She is still on antibiotics with us, her ear needs to be cleaned daily- the person who alerted us to her will take her after she is ready to go-will send pic when this happens, hopefully this week. We than will monitor her on a weekly basis. She does have a tumor but can have some love and quality time in her life.

2/23/13
Update on Rosqi - kitty with crushed pelvis.  He is doing ok, but needs pain meds daily. He is allowing a lot of petting so that is wonderful. (Makes me think he was a stray rather than a feral).  We still haven't raised enough for his surgery yet so maybe with all our new members, we can get some sent.

2/23/13
Update on Claudia!  She did have her leg removed and she came through with flying colors! She is up and eating on her own, YAAAYY!!!!

2/22/13
Update on Dixie, the burned puppy: Deena Youngblood
We are thankful for your page!! Dixie is doing better but still has a long way to go...front paws looking great. Bandages may be able to come off next week. She did test postitive for a antibotic resistant infection, so they have changed her meds. Her back right paw is the area of concern, still has much healing to do and she may lose a couple of her toes. We are thinking positive and we hope that will not happen...We are giving her lots and lots of love!!

2/21/12
Update on the doggie with the burned paws:Please help save DixieDixie saw the dr on Friday. Her front paws are looking great. They are worried about her back paws. We are taking her every other day to have her paws flushed, medicated and re wrapped The ladies at Banfield have fallen in love with her. We continue to give her pain meds and antibiotics. She is able to walk a little but we mostly carry her.

2/20/13
And update on our little chihuahua friend! Valley of the Sun Dog Rescue Thank you all again for your help with the eye removal surgery on our little Chihuahua...he is recovering nicely!

2/19/13
Update on Garefield.  UPDATE!!! Garfield is better and he can breathe better now. He is trying very hard to eat the canned food that is textured instead of just the AD science diet. He is neutered now and utd on shots so if there is anyone that is willing to feed him canned food for the rest of his life and would love to adopt him please let me know. He is really very loving and would make a great companion. He REALLY wants out of his kennel section here. I will probably let him out and about in a couple of more days when his hormone level has completely leveled out! :)Anniston, AL

2/18/12
Samson thanks all of the Dollar Clubbers who have supported his journey. YAY! Samson had good news today from the doctor and we were able to schedule surgery. Today Samson has his rabies shot and his distemper. He is not the happiest right now, but he is healthier.

2/17/13
And an update on Mickey, that adorable black and white kitty with all the problems, so glad to hear his eye as fixed as it is a horrible thing to live with: First we would like to thank all of you that have been closely following Mickey's story, sharing and resharing his post, and every donor that helped us raise money so far. Mickey had all of his surgeries this week (the umbilical hernia, the entropion, and her was neutered). He is recovering very well from the surgeries and is already feeling so much better. His eye has been a chronic, painful ailment that Mickey has lived with his whole life. It is amazing to watch him learn what it is like to live life pain-free. We still need to raise about $300 to cover the costs of Mickey's multiple surgeries so please do not stop helping us spread the word about him!

2/14/12 Atlas Atlas for the first time ever is out if hiding in his feral box....AND curled up in his cat bed!!!!! Looking so relaxed and content! May seem silly but he Has been hiding in a box for a month and actually looked like a normal pet kitty for the first time!!! We are progressing!!!!!!! Yeah!

2/14/12 Samson
Samson is feeling a little better and hoping the infection is clearing up.

2/12/13 Atlas
*****ATLAS UPDATE********* Talked to Dr. B this morning ~ he said that Atlas did great over night! He ATE DINNER AND BREAKFAST!! I will need to continue to medicate to help ensure no infection and rinse out his mouth to help eliminate any food that may get stuck in his stiches. He has the will to eat and has been a very good patient. Atlas will also be on pain medication for a while. I have a procedure of my own today :( but will be picking him up afterwards. Just wanted to give you all the update!! AND his chip in is at $1900!! PLUS we got $200 in cash/check via mail!! WOOOHOOO!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!

2/11/13  Samson  Not such a good report at my doctor visit today. Can't schedule further work until my respiratory stuff is clear and that is not accomplished yet:( got more antibiotics. Going to lose an inch or two of my tail because I lost some circulation and my eye has to be surgically scrapped out and sewn shut! Next doc appointment is 2-18! IF my respiratory is better on the 18th THEN my surgery can be scheduled and x-rays taken of my skeleton to see if THATs ok! Thank you everyone for all your support!!! But the doc said I look spunky and improved!!! My milk glass is always half full!!

2/11/13 Atlas  ATLAS UPDATE********** Dr B just called!! Said Atlas is a trooper!! He was in surgery for FOUR hours and all of his teeth were removed. It was a very tedious and involved surgery but he managed to carefully remove all of his teeth and roots without disturbing the bone or the nasal cavity!! He said Atlas lost a lot of blood during the surgery but that his levels are still in a good range. His mouth is all closed up with a good amount on tension. He said he did run into a surprise that one of his lower teeth had THREE roots and should only have TWO, but they took care of that too. He was microchipped also. He said the surgery went as good as can be expected and he is very happy with how things went. Atlas will be staying over night at the hosptial being monitored - as well as getting IV FLUIDS and pain medication. I will be calling later tonight to check on this progress. Poor boy must be in so much pain. Let the healing begin.

2/11/13 Garfield  Well, just heard from the Dr. about poor Garfield here. It seems like his jaw has been broken for some time. It is set and broken more towards the back than the front (probably NOT a car :( so Dr. Beam cannot do this type of surgery. I will probably have to take him to Birmingham to a special dr. in order to have it broken again, set, etc. I am afraid that I am not able to do this as it will cost quite a lot and the traveling to and from. The only other option that we have right now is to get his terrible infection cleared up and see if he can eat canned foods on his own. I am on my way to get him and bring him home now to see what we can do.....thanks for everyone pulling for sweet boy...

2-9-13...I need help with this boy. A sweet lady just brought him to me. He lives in her neighborhood and his owner won't help him. This lady is going out of town tomorrow and he came up to her house tonight after being gone for a few days looking like this. She didn't want to leave him and she.called me. I think his jaw is broken, he is severely infected and won't eat.

2/11/13  Atlas
Ok friends, we need LOTS of prayers for our boy Atlas!!!! Today is the big day for his surgery!! We've got to pray it is successful so he can live a pain free life. So lets all get together and send good vibes his way. Cindy, PLEASE keep us updated, I will be a nervous wreck waiting for word on him!
Todays the day for Atlas. Pit in my stomach. Prayers that all goes well. Thank you to everyone who helped raise money to make this possible for him. We are still short funds, please keep sharing his chip in!! Open til 2/14!

2/6/13 Snuffy  Updated photo of little Snuffy the red kitty who was run over by a car. He is doing very well and had his staples out today from his leg and his belly. He is eating and off all meds and is doing great! Such a miracle for a kitty was run over by a car! And the vet said they received $35 from the Dollar Club, so THANK YOU ALL!!!!

2/4/13  Atlas
YAAAY Atlas is doing better. One more week to surgery!
Atleburger (atlas lol) ate all his food, didn't potty in his feral box, AND was laying on the bottom floor of his penthouse! Not hiding in his box! Out of hiding perhaps....... Please share his chip in, we have made such great progress - ONE week to go!!!

2/2/13 Atlas
Update on our Atlas! Doing well and hoping surgery can move forward!
Here's our boy laying in litter box as I clean his room. He tries to bite me now every time I put my hand in the feral box. What are we going to do with him Once he's better and likely more aggressive?? This is weighing on me. A life in a cage is no life. It seems to be a good sign , eating well and surely "feeling his oats" so to speak..... But treating him post op seems like it will be a big challenge...

1/31/13 Atlas  It's working! Got A few more bucks via the po box! Thank you for your continued support!!! Atlas must be feeling pretty decent as he tried to bite me for the first time tonight when giving his pain meds ! If he only knew!!!
